I wasn't fortunate enough to be there, but I have the full show on DVD, recorded exclusively on VHS (transfered to disc), from council telly. My pride and joy. Earl's Court was special. Great memories of it 👍
For those who do not know where the name “Pink Floyd” came from…… Syd Barrett - original founder of the band had two favorite Blues Guitar Players in his record collection, two black men, “Pink Anderson and Floyd Council”. One came from North Carolina, (Pink) the other came from South Carolina, (Floyd).
PINK FLOYD are the GOAT!!! Nothing like them has touched their sound to this day. Intellectual, emotional profound and has the ability to take your soul on a journey!!!
Pink Floyd is Legendary, they're music is timeless. Their music has a way of taking the listener on a journey, a kind of cerebral journey in a tranquil kind of a transcendental state, very enjoyable!
I started listening to Pink Floyd in 1972 with the album Meddle. If I could only have one PF album to listen to I think it would be The Division Bell. There isn't a mediocre track on it, an absolute masterpiece.
@@jim5247 well spotted, although, in an interview with David Gilmour, he credited her with all the lyrics. He writes the music and then she does the lyrics
I discovered Pink Floyd at 15, over 50 years ago thru my exposure to DARK SIDE OF THE MOON and WISH YOU WERE HERE. It was quite an introduction for a stoned 15 year old. They spoke to me on philosophical/empathetic/spiritual/ musical levels that no other band had ever done. So instantly special was this material to me, that I would not listen to it "casually", in an environment where chatter or some other racket might pollute or contaminate it's trippy otherworldly beauty . This stuff was for a big chair in a dark room with headphones up high. David Gilmour is also the entire reason (and the only reason) that I taught myself how to play guitar, and is why I play the Fender Stratocaster in particular. Nothing stands on top of all that music or pierces the air like a Strat. Did you hear the crystaline beauty of those high notes Sir Dave was hitting during that last solo ?? DANG - that'll clean the wax outta your ears ! I'm wrestling with the idea of buying a 2nd Fender Strat this week. I don't really need a 2nd one, but it's a Strat...so I'm slowly loosing my argument against my own bad self.
I'm lucky (and old) enough to have seen them live multiple times in 1994 and 1987/1988/1989. Unfortunately (?) too young for their 1970's heyday live. I discovered PF in my early teens and immediately I was hooked. If you liked Division Bell, I suggest you listen to Delicate Sound of Thunder next, their 1988 concerts which will introduce you to some of their older work from their iconic albums Darkside of the moon, Wish you were here and The Wall. Then Meddle. Don't touch Animals just yet. Unless you want to be amazed by really angry lyrics and guitars.
It may be because of (a friend I know) this Pink Floyd Pulse tour concert video still exists online. Back in the day it showed up on a Google video server pre TH-cam then when TH-cam sold out to Google they decided to close thei video server site and this concert along with all other uploads there had a remove by date or be los when the server closed out the hosting of videos,. 4 people ripped a copy of this concert and tons of other music videos and transplanted them over to either Kazaa or lime wire maybe, one of the earlier file sharing sites , hoping to preserve the content. Since then someone, placed a copy on here, however it happened I'm glad it found a hone where others get a chance to hear and see it. Peace.
Hi Randi ... loving your reactions to "The Division Bell" thanks ... David Gilmour wrote this about his wife and is the only track on the album that he produced on his own
@@gravewaxxsupercoven1980 Gilmour has said (as can be heard on the David Gilmour in Concert DVD) that the song was written about his wife, Polly Samson.
Just a suggestion..you have to dive straight into their 4 greatest albums which also defined their sound. In order of release: Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals,& The Wall.
One of my faves from Division Bell! Did you see this solo David Gilmour video with guests David Crosby and Graham Nash? th-cam.com/video/1zASlgFe208/w-d-xo.html
Pink floyd drummer nick mason owns one of the most expensive cars ever made, A ferrari 250 GTO. Valued at around 40 million dollars, Bit of useless info for ya lol
This song has always been my favourite floyd song I've always called it.... hypnotic
I'm just so happy you own a real copy of their music. There is hope for the future. 🤟😎

"This is putting me in a trance"
The most used phrase amongst anyone new to PF.
Captivating? Mesmerising? Entrancing? Engulfing? Ensorcelling? Peace from Canada- be safe.
Mesmerizing is the word you're looking for.
This is a very underrated song and is firmly in my top 4 Floyd tunes.
It's an excellent song but I really like take it back
es un pedazo de tema bro, un himno a la resiliencia. Brutalmente hermosísimo

One of my favorites
Pink Floyd vivirá hasta el fin de los tiempos
Once you've been exposed to Pink Floyd nobody else quite hits the spot.
They were simply extraordinary.
The word is spellbound
So cute watching Pink Floyd

Fact , all Pink Floyd is going to be Epic.
Very underated song
Mezmerizing , as always

David Gilmour’s voice and guitar are magical.

Pink Floyd puts you in the mood they want you in for every intro
Randi, you were grooving to my jam with me. I enjoyed this moment with you.
Well thank you! Unfortunately I do not have an answer for that. 😂 I am a product of my experiences, so am one of a kind. 🤷♀️
@@BetterEveryDayTH-cam I just enjoyed that you liked my tune and we both grooved to it.
This is my favorite post Roger Waters Pink Floyd song,

Such an amazing song. Fun fact: David Guilmor"s wife, Polly Sampson, wrote the lyrics to all the songs on the album
after 1984
@@jim5247 I was referring to all the songs on this album
@@jacquesleroux3171 Polly was credited for 3 songs on this album "high Hopes" "take it back" keep talking'

Space rock at its best
@Better Every Day; David wrote Coming Back to Life about his addiction and meeting his wife Polly Samson who helped him overcome the problem.
Loving the journey 🤘🏻💞
I like your style, great reaction vid :)
Mesmerizing. Audio intoxication.
I think 'mesmerizing ' is the one she was thinking of.

ETHEREAL !!!
Estás lejos de ti y seca de nada pero algún día verás lo hermoso de la vida en soledad y algo crecerá más lento pero fuerte fuera de tu ventana
" hanging on someones else words" reference to Roger . now the Floyd is coming back without Roger.
