It’s the *EXPENSIVE* skin treatments she gets done. None of these influencers are honest they’re all trying to sell something. If they were honest and tell us the treatments they get done maybe we could save for that. Instead of wasting money on products that don’t work.

The products that I've been using for months really work. I'm 57 and my skin looks like I'm 45. I'm using Drmtly needless serum, NIOD's copper peptide, NIOD's fractionated eye complex, reviv ultimate serum and Stratia Lipid gold. I also use some tret a few days a week.

I'm not rich miss girl and lemme tell you them salon grade chemical peals targeting ance has cleared my skin up... I don't even need foundation anymore just a pressed powder and a moisturiser......

"try being an influencer" babe I burst into tears last week because I work with patients (non medical role) and I need to be prepared to call the emergency line and to help someone who might die, my bad decision making could cause someone to die. I had to go above and beyond to make sure that two patients were okay as I had concern today, if I had missed it they could die (possibility).
I'd love to take that role, try doing mine.

I've helped terrified, crying, depressed, and scared patients and I've helped them so much that they've laughed or they've given me genuine thanks, I'm so tired but I'm so glad I can do my part to make sure they're safe.

Speaking as someone who works regular 9-5, dealing with people in the office alone is exhausting, I couldn't imagine having to deal with people whose life depends on you, medical or non medical, you deserve the credit! I hope you figure out a way to cope with it though. Thank you for your effort♡
I had a patient threaten me with physical violence over something that had nothing to do with me (medicine took a few hours to show up from pharmacy, they are so busy like the rest of us and it wasn't like it was a life or death situation either) and called me disgusting
@Hannah-ij2qx I work in health care as well as an admin assistant, but I also chaperone out ladies, and help them with getting dressed / undressed, because a lot of them have mobility issues. I work a lot of extra hours, because I care and I love my job - know you're appreciated, keep going ❤

Exactly! This is why I am really skeptical about reviews of the new skincare products. Unless the brand sends this in advance or it's a wow-effect product, it's impossible to say something about the true effects of the products in such a short time

Skin issues like acne are such a serious, debilitating problem for a lot of people. The fact that she doesn't care and will lie to vulnerable people that she has found a miracle product/brand for acne is so low.

Acne is no joke. I had it in middle/high school and still have bad scars 15 years later. I dont think I'll ever have smooth skin because of it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The only way influences are going to learn is if they are de platformed. The less we watch, the less they make. They lie to us, they don't disclose properly, they don't treat their fans with respect, then we as fans need to just stop watching. It's harsh sure, but it feels like the only way to them to see the consequences of their actions.

It feels like I have seen so many videos from Mikayla entitled "These are the skincare products that make my skin how it is", or something to that effect. But when you see one of these after the other after the other after the other, you feel like "Well.....which products are the real ones that you use to get your skin how it is?" Also- how can one person consistently use so many hundreds of products? It's not possible.
It's why the whole "beauty influencer" community is bullshit. It's just the way that big brands have gone in way of marketing.
What products does she use? Dermatologists and Estheticians. She gets expensive treatments from an office.

i live in the boston area and know people that went to school with her and apparently her accent is heavily exaggerated. they say she never talked like that in school and i honestly believe them. i’ve never heard anyone speak the way she does and my whole family has a heavy boston accent. bostonians will often poke fun at themselves and over exaggerate their accent as a joke, forcing themselves to say every word with the accent. that’s exactly what her voice sounds like.

What’s funny is how so many influencers try to give advice on acne when they obviously have a ton of Botox . When you get Botox it helps reduce the occurrence of clogged pores! I’ll never trust someone who has a ton of Botox done when it comes to skin care.

It actually takes 12 weeks for skin to adapt to new skincare if i ever took a partnership or sponsorship i would need 4 months at minimum to test and then review❤😊

It may be stressful, but she chose and pursued that kind of life. Others, however, have no choice to go to their 9-5 just to live by with the money they get. They don't get to have free things, flexible schedule, minimal stress from their everyday lives and work lives or even to potentially ENJOY what they do. People who work hard like that...THEY don't feel free.
The 5:19 did me in. Like I work 12-20 + hrs a day and most weeks over 100HRs eve and night shifts. Running myself ragged to put food on the table and still struggling to care for my 3 children and my neice and nephew I took in due to my sister's addiction. Like shit I would love that job and the money that comes with it🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
I think it comes down to the fact that Mikayla and other influencers like her are no longer reviewers they are now sales reps. I’m so glad that I’m older and I have found my own routines and products that work for me.

I had cystic acen. Topical cleansers and all of that can only go so far. I got on vitamins and it helped so much in combo with a skincare routine. Do not believe influencers if your acne is bad. Go see a specialist.

I mean the brands themselves are as much to blame as the influencers. They seek out these influencers the ones you all make popular and get them to promote. Buy what works for you and what you need and do your research take anything and everything these influencers say with a grain of salt. Everything they post on their platform is basically a commercial or advertisement.

I get up at 5 am, I have to get an hr long bus to work, I work 8 till 5, another hr long bus and don't get home till 6. Try being an administrator for one day Mikayla ....oh and I'm also a mum so I get home and have to do the parent thing (food, homework etc)
I don't trust a single influencer anymore. Every one that I've followed does the same thing as Mikayla- saying that this or that brand is everything to them - with 15 different brands in the same amount of days. At this point, social media is only advertising by solo entrepreneurs.

I have acne prone skin and let me tell you that I tried every skin-care product that targets acne. I tried the 10-step korean skincare, pimple patches, and all these acne-prone products that claim to reduce acne. Let me tell you that none of these products worked for my skin. I finally got clearer skin by using tretinoin (which is prescribed medication) and reducing my workplace stress. Using a cleanser alone will not reduce your acne lmao.
