Thank you so much for this! I’ve been on the fence for adding Hongdian inks to my arsenal, but I see a couple I’d love to have! I think the Peacock Blue will be my first choice. Not bad for $10 and yes, I’ll be adding a Midori notebook to my order.
Super FUN 🎉 I like your swatching method, and grouping colors, not makers. Cool swatching books too. Looking forward to the vid on paper. Glad to find your channel.
You made me look at Midori paper differently, I didn’t realise that it shows sheen so well! My preferred swatch paper is Tsubame OK Fools cards, but I also enjoy old TR52, Cosmo Air Snow, and Iroful. Peacock and Sky Blue ar3 my two favorites, but I am going to pick up the regular blue and the grey blue and some other colors when they go on sale again. Thank you!
Thanks for the great review! I've got the Blackish Green and Bluish Gray. Both have great flow and performed very well on different paper with my pens. The Blackish Green is strange but I love it. When I sampled it on TR paper it looked almost like Bluish Gray but in a pen, it was definitely green. I still want to buy the black, purple, and brown inks of this collection. Peacock blue looked really nice too! I think these inks have just as great of a flow as the Pilot Iroshizuku inks at a much lower price.
Thanks Vincenzo for providing us a good look at how the Hongdian inks appear on both TR and Midori paper. I already have a bottle of the Teal, but wouldn't mind adding the Black, Blackish Green, Brown, and Gray. Those will have to wait for a little while longer though.
These are great inks I have a couple , but having seen all the colours will absolutely buy some more. Slowly running out of ink storage space tho :) . Thank you for the informative and enjoyable video. Regards from London UK.
Thank you very much for this in-depth analysis. When I first got into fountain pen fandom , I picked up blackish gray and bluish green, mostly because of the great price. Both are very fun but still professional colors to use in a pen! I'll need to pick up a few more of these colors starting with brown and purplish red. Also, thank you for the idea of using a folded nib for swatching. It always feels wasteful the amount of ink debt remains in a Q-tip, particularly when I'm working with a small sample.
What is the Mil capacity of these ink bottles? It would be interesting to see which inks you would reorder after using these inks - I think that's always the key to the issue. Very interesting to see how much difference the type of paper makes to the swatches.
Nice inks! I find some Chinese inks to be under-saturated; but these look very nice. I've been happy with the Jinhao inks I've tried, and, in fact, when I give a pen to a potential new fountain pen enthusiast, I'll give them a bottle of Jinhao Blue-Black, which performs very well. And, doesn't the Peacock Blue remind us of the (brighter) Scrip Peacock Blue of the 1970s!
I like the black, so much so, I got a 100ml bottle. I like the brown and in the market for a bottle. I have been looking for a vibrant/bright red. This may be the one to get. The prices are excellent and I like the seal that is placed on the bottle to keep the ink from evaporating. I have too many blue inks to consider getting another one. Thank you for the overview, Vincenzo.
Unless you write with a brush all day long, I'm guessing when you meet someone who asks what ink to buy, you insist that you will provide something. You need them to take some away from you, more than they think!
Great video 👍👍👍
Great video, Vincenzo! I'm a big fan of the Hongdian inks, and glad to see them getting some well-deserved attention.
I’m glad you’re a fan of these interesting inks
I like it that they call them the color. And not some name that has nothing. To do with color . Good job ., hope you had a good holiday.
I’ve just returned from a short vacation in Florida and will be back to the grind tomorrow
I saw two more on Amazon if you want to add to your collection. :)
Light Red and Peach blossom
Thank you for the tip. I will check it out.

It's amazing how the inks can look different on different papers

It's good to hear your experience with these inks is just as good as mine!

I'm with you there. I will have to clear some drawers in my Ikea cabinet to make way for more inks!
Have fun!

I am loving the Teal, Peacock Blue and Purple the best
They are all very nice inks
I've got half a dozen of these inks and find them very good overall. Great show!
Thank you for the compliment

I was just googling the Hongdian inks, tryingt to find writing samples!

The Majhon inks are also excellent very saturated and also give out some sheen

Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm glad you found the ink review helpful!
SUPER !!!
AMAZON OFFERS THEM, BUT I WAS VERY CURIOUS ABOUT HOW THEY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE.
THANKS VINNY 👍🏻
My pleasure
Where did you buy your flat pen? It really like the shading it makes.
Where I bought it from no longer has it in stock, but you should look up and Google folded pens and see what comes up
lol, teal is sooo green.
Beautiful ink

You may be right
OMG 🎉
