Yes, and I would have but that piece they were splitting is as big as it got. The tree had been hit by lightning at least three times and was severely burnt, the remaining base was left crescent shaped with only the thickness in the video supporting the tree when it came down.
Which is why it surprised me that it took so long for someone to collect it. It was severely burnt from the known 3 lightning strikes, causing the base to be crescent shaped. I originally hoped to save a slice out of it to use as a desk base, but had no means to cut it, so decided to let someone to take it for the fee of cutting/removal. No takers so I ended up PAYING a nephew to cut remove the whole thing just to make it go away. He got all but this piece, but after two days he gave up on it. I just wanted it gone.
No, did not ask. This wood is valuable but not sure of the value of this piece as it was severely burnt and no large dimensions left to it. Sompit did not know when I asked her.
Too many dialects here. Seems every village has its own version of Thai and our village is suay... or something like that. A blend of Cambodian and Thai.
reminds me of cutting a few stumps up when we first got here...never want to do that again...lol
Mind-boggling how hard they are though. One and gone for me.
G'day Kenny and Sompit. Another project completed. You never know, a good wood butcher may be able to combine chunks to make something wonderful 👍
I am sure smaller pieces could be salvaged, but not sure what they had planned with it.
10 out of 10 for diligence, shame he didn't know how to sharpen his saw
Yes, and a bit longer bar would have made a significant difference as well.
Too bad you didn't make an outdoor table from a cross section of that root ball. It would be pretty, stained and varnished.

That wood fetches a pretty penny.

Change the batteries in the lights with rechargeable batteries they will last heaps longer
The cases are sealed on broke when I tried to open one.
Hey Kenny
Enjoyed the video at one point I thought they were going to give up😜
i was there to make sure they did not! lol
Did you find out why they wanted it?

Cool video, thanks. I guess the answer to your thumb nail is that it's pretty darn hard when the saw is so very dull. :)
Yes, I still don't know what kind of tree it was, other than hard.
no one steals in thailand
Self-transferred?
@ i learned that from paullee 3rdworld ep
Noo= Rat (ricerat)

Do you know what species of tree??
No, I do not. I mentioned it is the same as the one in the distance, so was hoping someone would tell us.
