  • So here I gambled and it worked. This is a 2002 Mercedes Cl500 that had a no audio issue. I removed the phone out of the "loop" and it fired right up. I can not guarantee that it will work for your car, but worth a shot.

      Hello, I am glad to hear of your success and I am going to try this on my 2006 CL 500 tomorrow 6/19/24 (well today its 0355). I wanted to ask should I disconnect the battery? Also, what is he replacing adding if anything to the existing wires? Is this bypassing the area that is corroded or did he clean and reconnect the area that was corroded? I am a female and a Nurse by trade, and I am a little detailed oriented.
      Thanks! Lisa ; )

      Thank you for your services. All I did was remove the corroded system out of the loop. I did not disconnect the battery, just dont have the car on. Its like removing a "source" out of the loop of sources. I use the word loop because fiber optic systems are in a "loop", a circle of sources. So the phone is a source, cd changer is a source, navigation, and so on. So when the radio detected that the phone system was corroded, it shut the amp down to protect itself, which is the right thing for it to do. So when you bypass the problem, it doesnt see the problem anymore and thinks nothing is wrong. Follow the video, you will be fine, just dont lose the clip. You got this, the hardest part is getting to the wire. The bypassing part is easy. Good luck. Its easier than you think.

    I cut the red wired going to teleaid module and it took the whole system down.
    Any input would be appreciated

    By doing this does the amp and changer still function?

    I have a beeping noise coming from my 1999 cl500 speaker any ideas what the cause would be?

    • @richideates
      @richideates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Beeping? I cant relate to. But crackling, more like someone crumbling up aluminum foil, that would be a blown speaker. It all depends on the sound its making. Beeping I would refer to a truck backing up, or when an oven goes off when its done, that would be beeping. Try to refer more toward "beeping", that or try to describe it better.

      It’s like the emergency sound but not sure how to take turn it off

      Emergency sound? I think you would have to be more specific, but either way, I would say it is blown and needs to be replaced.

    just bought a 02 S430 no power to head unit at all, all fuses check out, could that optic be the cause of my problem? its a MN car so corrosion is worse then some other states.

    • @richideates
      @richideates  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No power. Doubtful. Agreed that the weather doesnt help, but also doubtful. I would pull the radio out and see if there is a fuse on the headunit itself. MB's were known for that on some years. Its worth a shot to try that.

      @@richideates thank you i pulled radio out checks fuses, they were fine, then i took the radio itself apart till it was littery just a screen, dusted everything i could reach put it back together now i just get a grey screen that powers on and off within like 10 seconds, does it about 3 times or so then stays off, ill keep on the search or just replace with an adroid radio, anyway thanks for the reply and keep up the helpful videos.

    • @richideates
      @richideates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome to Mercedes. Lmao. Well if you went that far, I see no reason why you cant replace the radio yourself. Most of those china radios or "plug and play" radios. Are just that, hide some wires here and there, run the camera if you so desire and call it a day. If its coming up grey, it means it has power and its time for a new radio. Not uncommon, especially with MB or German cars in general. Be lucky its not a 5,000 dollar computer like the ML's. Try to get one of those when the truck is worthless without a bad computer because the truck leaks water. This is a slap on the wrist with what German cars can throw your way. Lol Good Luck.

    From where can i buy these black connectors?

    • @richideates
      @richideates  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure. I looked on amazon and nothing. You should have them already in the car. I didnt supply those, those are factory connectors that plug into one another. I would google mercedes fiver optic connectors and see what you come up with. But those are factory for sure

    • @Mevax

      Those are non Factory D2B connectors. Amazon and eBay.
