man i wish i lived near by dude, i would have gladly came and helped you move stuff and lend a hand! Great stuff Steve the place looks amazing and cozy!
That's probably the coziest looking workshop I've ever seen, you did excellent work bud! That's brilliant that you have access to that garage door too, I've scraped and busted up my knuckles on the door frame far too many times while moving tubes in and out of my game room. Being able to roll something right in without even having to think about the width is just awesome!
Thanks, yeah this shop is pretty perfect for what I need, at least for now. I'm already planning on finishing out the smaller building next door to add more space.
Steve, the exterior looks phenomenal. Congratulations! Once you have the insulation in and the drywall up, you can finish it on your schedule, just as long as you can stay warm while you work. Can't believe that it also has an attic space. Beautiful.
Hi Retrotech have you seen the video just posted by Shank Mods about the Sony KV-45ED1? It's an awesome story and I think it's a TV that deserves your attention and I think you'd deserve a look at it
i know you can only make videos on things that you can get your hands on. but as a vga crt emulating guy there isn't much videos/info on that kind of setup. im not even too sure about the pros and cons as all the info out there seems to be crt+real hardware vs emulation on an lcd screen and not crt+emulation. i feel like i got a sense of it but again im sure there is plenty i wouldn't have even thought of. like i know most vga adapters (including the one i own) bottleneck the feed and limit the capability but even specific model numbers get revisions that limit previously good adapters. but as far as i can tell that would only effect me for modern gaming as pretty much everything else runs at 60fps. so the 100Hz limitation im at maybe isn't such an issue... but idk. im very happy with 17" Dell, especially after i put some convergence strips in (im very happy those worked out like they did) but im positive there is plenty i don't know about vga/emulation interplay.. and with the prices of games ever increasing im sure more and more people will wind up having a VGA CRT as a second/third monitor like me.
very interesting to see how you guys do the electric wiring, so simple but it also looks kinda hazardous as a german, haha :D i also have a lot of sockets and distribution boxes and between them i fed each cable trough an extra plastik hose wich is clamped secure onto the wooden wall. so to see a loose wire just pulld trough some wooden beams i wonder, what if the insulation of the cable gets damaged? don´t want so sound like a smart ass, like i said different nations do things differently, i really enjoy your content :D
My wife: What do you want for Christmas? Me: I'd like to finish the insulation on my shed. I need to get some foam board insulation for the underside of my shed's floor. Tomorrow its supposed to be 18F overnight.
I’m located in San Diego an really want to get my crt serviced, what tips do you have to help me find someone in my area capable of doing the job? Merry XMAS!
Dude you probably shouldn't put that you have beds in there up on the internet. All is takes so some nasty neighbor to get you in trouble with your codes officer.

Thanks Brother! You are always welcome over.
This video was different than the typical ones but I really enjoyed it!
You know a roadtrip from PA to CT to get my CRT serviced or buy a new one is something I'd be down to do, so I hope this becomes a reality!
Looks really nice!
Nothing as satisfying as some good DIY projects getting done
Congratulations on the project, Steve!
Thank you!
Looks great

Awesome!
Definitely a larger work space than you had back here. Looks great and congrats on the expansion.
Thanks!

Awesome dude! You’re the crt king!
Looks great Steve, it’s good to see these kind of DIY room builds for us retro nerds so thanks for filming it
Thanks, it was very satisfying to finish
Looks great Steve! Happy Holidays!
Thanks, you too!
Now to just add some wood paneling and carpet on those walls 💪
You are a master
Don't forget the static introduced by the carpet!
Looks Great, Hardwood Floors causes Echos, Carpets does not

Finally new video
Chipboard is a paint sponge. But you would have a LOT more echo if you had drywall.

Hey side note: do you know how to RGB mod a KV27-XBR26? FN chassis. Can't find any guides. Shop looks great!

It always floors me to see all the stuff people do without work gloves, earplugs/muffs, goggles...
you cued call it the CRT works
Surprised somebody wanted that 4:3 HD Sony CRT serviced, I have almost the same one but bigger but I use it a LOT less than my SD sets.
Did Coal stay with you overnight? I see one of his dog beds. I sure hope so...
Yes, he snores so loud though

Relax, it's just a double decker couch. 😉
