fun fact the red guitar that brian may (the guitarist) plays in this and in most of their stuff HE BUILT with his dad when he was younger!! The whole band has talents beyond the band because they all went to college for such different things: Freddie with an art degree (he actually designed their logo/crest), Brian May (lead guitar) has a phd in astrophysics which is insane, Roger Taylor (drummer) was going to be a dentist, and John Deacon (bass) studied electrical engineering!! I find that all soo insane! Just thought i'd share some cool facts with you guys
Another Brian May fact: he didn't use a normal guitar pick to play, he used a British sixpence which is a coin kinda like a US nickel. It was literally heavy metal!
Joelyne 37 - John Deacon had an HONORS degree in electrical engineering and invented the amp (out of stuff he found in the garbage) that Brian uses to get his unique sound that was a big part of Queen's success. He was a genius and also wrote several of their biggest hits!
I love your reactions. It's so nice seeing people experiencing Queen for the first time. Please keep reacting to Queen. I would recommend Queen at Live Aid. And then I Want to Break Free, One Vision, Another One Bites the Dust, The Show Must Go On and there are so many more that you will love
@@RTTV2011 When you watch the official Another One Bites the Dust video: there is a joke hidden in the video :) Hint: watch Freddie's hats! Definately a funky song. Greetings from the Netherlands!
I'm from the UK, I'm black and I grew up hearing this. Its amazing and wonderful to watch reactions from those who've never seen it. If you REALLY want to see how powerful they were watch the video of the crowd at the Green Day concert in Hyde Park 2017 singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody.
You can see that it is bullshit what people used to say, that Queen is not music for black people. Music is either good or bad and it is for all people. I am so happy to see people learning more about this great band.
I was 16 years old when this came out!!!!! being a brit, I know every song by heart, and why I feel old watching you react, BUT, the intergenerational love is brilliant,
You guys make me laugh, I love when you all started rocking out at 3:50 Queen/Freddie is a pure legend and the fact that more and more people are realising that these days (decades after his death) makes me smile so much it hurts my face! Please react to more Queen/Freddie please. Awesome reaction guys. 💯👌
victorsixtythree That’s What I was thinking. I’m not sure if the year, but this was probably before music videos were de rigueur & that’s often what they did, rather than spend a lot of money making a vid for a song that may be a couple years old by then.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 It was a music video, this was actually several years after they started with music videos, Bohemian Rhapsody being the first
Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't the first music video. It wasn't even Queen's first video. The year for the Don't Stop Me Now video was 1978. It was off the album Jazz.
As one who has heard this song hundreds (if not thousands) of times since it's 1979 release (I was 9, then), it's so nice to hear a song I think I'm a little tired of through fresh ears, experiencing what I did all of those years ago. Love all your reactions to Queen and other music I grew up with. Merry Christmas to all of you and your loved ones. :)
At the end of the song you can hear that it is inspired by black choir when he sings "dont stop me dont stop me dont stop me HEY HEY HEEEEEEEY" and the rest of that segment.
If you didn't pause so often you'd definitely be among my favourite reactors. Your reactions are honest and you really appreciate music. Keep expanding your musical minds!

Music videos weren't even a thing until MTV and the 80s. Seriously queen was one of the first bands to make an actual music video I believe with bohemian Rhapsody. They were a super revolutionary band.
A note about the Live Aid show: 72, 000 in that crowd, and Freddie held them in the palm of his hand. "Under Pressure" and "Radio Gaga" are my 2 favorites for watching him do his thing.
Guys, you HAVE to watch and react to Queen's Live Aid 1985 set. It is widely considered to be the best concert set of all time. Freddie's voice is insane, but the crowd control that he has is indescribable. I think you will be extremely impressed. :)
@Rob: "Concert videos" was what a lot of music videos were like back then. This was early music television. Before that music was either live or recorded. When presented with the opportunity to go on TV they just recorded what they were already doing: Live shows. Go back and look. A lot of music videos from the 70s, 80s and even some of the early 90s were just recorded concerts. Its like when radio was first invented and they didn't know what to do with it they would just broadcast a guy reading a newspaper out over the airwaves.
I'm pretty sure everyone has heard almost every Queen song at some point in their life, even if you don't know who they are. They are that big, and that epic!
yup! literally everyone knew the songs "we will rock you" and "we are the champions" when i was growing up because it was performed in school settings a lot and those songs were played a lot in tvs/movies
I'm a child of the '60s and of all the bands from then to now, Queen is one of the best if not the best bands of all times. I have picked 4 for you to chose to react to either one of these; "We Are the Champions," "We Will Rock You," "Another One Bites the Dust," and "Fat Bottomed Girls."
You guys would enjoy the 85' Live Aid show they did it's got a whole medley of songs - their Magic tour the following year was just as amazing to watch.
Don't know if you have watched him live, I think you guys did do live aide, but they actually sounded better live than on record or video. Now what does that say, when you are better than the best editing machines available in the studios at that time, he'd probably be better than the auto tuners they have today. There is a video out called "The secret behind Freddie's voice" and it breaks down why his voice was so unique. If you like the song Somebody to Love, you have to see him do it in the Montreal Live video...so much better than their video.
Brian May built that guitar, the "Red Special" with his father when Brian was a teenager because his family couldn't afford to buy him a guitar. The back of it (or maybe it's the neck, i can't remember) is made from a fireplace that at the time was over a hundred years old. He also used one of his mother's knitting needles as one of the parts. You should react to No One But You, a song the band made for Freddie.
