Love this game and love this video. Production is great! just a thought: maybe add some light background music like you do in your other videos sometimes? There are times during the game when you guys are pausing to think where it could be nice to have a little soundtrack?
Ugh! I've been playing this as Attacker effects resolve first, and that has definitely decided some matches (good lord, I am such a nerd for feeling this revelation so hard). Thanks for letting me know it' defense! Also, this video is so well done, production-wise!
Couple rules questions. Does Alice get her +1 defense if she doesn’t play a card? I saw Mike do this around minute mark 10. Just curious if I have been playing wrong. Lol
That is a very good question! I just looked in the rules and didn’t see info specific to Alice’s ability so I think it’s a judgment call. I read it as a persistent defense but at the same time Alice being big doesn’t mean she just automatically does damage so I don’t know! I think you are the correct one and I should have been defeated all the more swiftly.
The Brothers Murph hahaha! Such a great game. You guys should do a ranking on your favorite unmatched characters. Did either of you submit a character during the unmatched contest?
I haven't had a chance to play yet, but I love the characters that have been picked by Restoration games so far. I hope that they don't lean too heavily into the various IPs because I can see the Unmatched series becoming a bit convoluted like the Funko series. Which works for Funko, but Unmatched seems a bit more serious in it's heroes, and not silly. So I don't want to see Golden Girls, or Norm from Cheers vs. Bull from nightcourt, or some nonsense like that. I'd like to see: Blackbeard the Pirate Van Helsing Werewolf / Wolfman Peter Pan / Captain Hook (but a non-disney version, similar to how they did Alice, and Red Riding Hood). Gilgamesh Hercules Jason (Argonauts) (I seem to have a sea faring theme here) Mummy Frankenstein
Right now I own all unmatched expansions minus Jackie Chan. I was excited by the art and the clever grassroots advertising restoration games did for the product. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s that fun of a game and to boot my personal experience is opening the boxes with missing or damaged cards. It’s been two months now and restoration games has failed to respond to me even after buying directly off their website. I can’t really give the game or the company a positive review which is a shame since I like this channel.
"Hmm, it looks like that guy is going to attack me. I don't know how exactly, or with what, but I'll use this defense and hope for the best." Bizarre gameplay with a terrible title/premise. Something about this game is definitely unmatched.
This was fun. Also great camera work and editing. Really easy to follow the game with the angles.
When you discarded a voyage card of Nick’s, I literally said “No Mike, what is you doing?!”

Nick’s absolute glee when he made Mike discard a good card! It reminded me of the dynamic between my sister and I when we play games.
Alice's passive defense only applies to her cards, not passively when she is not defending.

it should not, it adds +1 to value of her defense cards. so if you are not playing a defense card, you have nowhere to put the +1
