    Wow! I love how she anticipates what's coming next! She's really smart! Has she won any awards for her tricks?

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She has two Novice Trick Dog titles so far. We are working on an Intermediate title.

    • @janeyrevanescence12
      @janeyrevanescence12 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chaskat35 Wow! Congrats, Bootsie! She's going to nail the Intermediate, I just know it.
      Strange question but what is the difference between Novice and Intermediate Trick Dogs?

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each level has a list of tricks, and the dog has to perform 10 of them, twice each, in front of a judge. The intermediate tricks are more advanced and more difficult to learn than the novice. For example, one novice level trick is for the dog to go into a crate with an open door, and stay until released. On the intermediate level, the dog has to open the door first by himself.

    • @janeyrevanescence12
      @janeyrevanescence12 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chaskat35 have any of them learned to open the door by themselves? One of our dogs figured out how to open his kennel/crate from the inside (we have no idea how he was able to do it) and would help himself to the fridge while we were gone.

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bootsie can already open the crate door by herself - from the outside, if it's unlocked - which is what is required on the Intermediate level.

    Are you still using cheerios when they get advanced?

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - I use Cheerios as my bait/treat of preference for all ages. However, if Bootsie ever goes for a more advanced Trick Dog title, she'll have to be able to do tricks without any luring.

    Is your backyard real grass or artificial?

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Artificial - it's almost impossible to grow real grass with this many dogs.

    I mean this is cool but by the time he gets done feeding her all those treats she's going to have the poops

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  ปีที่แล้ว

      The treats are tiny, so she is not affected at all.

    • @commanderrussels2612
      @commanderrussels2612 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chaskat35 ah okay cool. my giirlfriend has one of these and it begs at the table when she eats (because she feeds him food sometimes). I never feed him at the table so he never begs when I eat. Can she train him out of that habit somehow? Like if she just stops feeding him at the table and lets him beg for a few months will he eventually get the idea of no begging at the table?

    • @chaskat35
      @chaskat35  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will take some time to break the habit, but the best bet would be to confine him to a crate whenever she is eating. But the dog should be fed first, so that he's not hungry while in the crate.

      @@chaskat35 thanks! with the crate in the same room that she is eating in or in another room so he doesn't see her eat? the sam room right, so he learns he gets to eat and then doesn't get her food?
