My grandma fell for this and gave them access to her computer trough TeamViewer. Luckily she never got to the point of sending them money. Even tough I told her about this stuff and said never give any information to anyone over the phone she still fell for it.

Seems like a lot of work but you'll be helping thousands of people around the world from being scammed and committing suicide because all of their savings have been taken by some piece of sh**. I actually know someone who committed suicide because they were scammed breaks my heart and angers me every time I think about it.

My grandpa who was in his 90s got a scam call saying his granddaughter had been kidnapped and he had to send them thousands of dollars. His granddaughter (my sister) was fine. She was not kidnapped. The scammers also had a girl screaming “help me” in the background to convince him.

Indian authorities have been trying hard to trace them and even have been successful upto some extent, but since most of these transactions happen through crypto currency, it's really hard to trace them. That's why current ruling government of India had shared a resolution in parliament to ban crypto currency, but since a lot of tech savvy Indians are too involved into crypto mining and bitcoin investments, government will make some changes in the bill related to transactions and officially pass it in parliament later this month.

Indians themselves hate these guys a lot, these scammers don't give a damn about anyone be it elders, kids, or their own fellow citizens, they even scam their elder Indians. Indian authorities have been trying hard to trace them and even have been successful upto some extent, but since most of these transactions happen through crypto currency, it's really hard to trace them. That's why current ruling government of India had shared a resolution in parliament to ban crypto currency, but since a lot of tech savvy Indians are too involved into crypto mining and bitcoin investments, government will make some changes in the bill related to transactions and officially pass it in parliament later this month.
