    Your attention to detail is excellent. The only critique would be that when initially taping off the area, the boxing off with tape on all sides caused a bit of your problem with trying to blend, causing you more work to eliminate the tape line. Taping off the light only then filling in and sanding/feathering out to existing paint and allowing some overspray to blend the new paint to the old. You actually did this as you moved the tape back a few times, but could have done it initially and achieved the same results. Excellent results and great video. Also like the car. Thanks for posting.

    I did this with The same touchup paint on half a door panel that was dented, 2 panels bent one in and one out,back right door and fender and had paint from an orange pole, and the part of the panel behind it as well. with a lot less effort then this guy did, my wife thought I had the door and the panel replaced. you spent way top much time, and I can tell, although I can only tell staring at it, so pretty good Job. This worries me because I'm about to do my second car, hopefully It goes as well as My first one did.

    first off your paint skills are on point i am really impressed. Now for the exhuast, i have the same car as you a 2015 nismo i have been through 5 diffrent exhuast since i got it, in going to tell you something the nismo's H pipe design is amazing thats why AAM and HKS have been copying it. if you want a more agressive sound just get an axel back youll make better gains then the Invidia and it will sound better too, i had agency power, CNT, and Top Speed nismo axel back, and the only reason in running an HKS is becuase i have long tube headers now and needed to quite the car down, but hands down the best exhaust combo i ran was the Top Speed axel back with the stock nismo H pipe. Really good gains amazing sound, never raspy and it was also the cheapest, honestly i strongly recoment the top speed nismo axel back for 250 bucks

  • @jwill9877
    @jwill9877 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pretty good overall. I can't believe you were able to buff it the same day. My understanding is the color will never match perfectly so you paint a larger section than the original part. Each new coat you put on you spray a larger section. This essentially blends the new paint into the old paint without any hard line color transitions. You do the same with the clear. But seriously overall it looks good. It takes a good eye to see that spot if you didn't know it was there.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I wanted to try and do a super small blend and use the body line to my advantage. I wish i did color a bit larger out to avoid that slight dark spot. But definitely came out good enough and I learned a lot about painting!

    As someone who worked in a shop, and painted, and also uses automotive touch up, this job was alright. It’s not “good”, but like you said, for a non-professional it’ll be unnoticeable. But, some mistakes were made. Mainly, not using a light primer, which would’ve dramatically helped that dark spot. And a few other things, but I won’t nitpick

      Brian B I did my roof a moth ago first car mod 1 month after owning my 370z. I recorded the video too, I need to get around to editing it. I did gloss black from avery. beware of the gloss glass finishes my material had wait imperfections (waves / texture) in it along with micro vent holes. some advice if you use soap water use minimal so it sticks good on the hard edges (found out the hard way) and get a textured vynal like 3d carbon because it shows less improfections (used some on my g35). soapy water is used in all decal applications (drop or two of soap in a squirt bottle) but if your confident alot of people wrap without it. for me it helped with air bubbles, also was your car really good and clay bar it, try to be in a dust free area (it wasn't possible for me) and have 2 people (more the better). I used a 4 x 5 sheet (you will need if you haven't wrapped before) so you can pull and stick. hope this helps if you plan to do it before seeing a video.

I scratched the right rear fender backing into the garage. It cost $400 to have it professionally repaired. I ordered FI exhaust for it, should be delivered by the end of next week. I got a black 2013 touring sport roadster, i had a 370 black cherry coup 2009 but it got flooded inside my garage during Hurricane Maria, but it all worked out with the insurance payment, on my new 370z i used black perforated waping paper to cover the front bumper plastic area all the lenses in the back and back window, i also covered the DRL with this waping paper, also the back interior wall behind the seats, it gives the car a nice classy look. This black perforated waping paper would look good with your black cherry Z.

    It's possible to improve the appearance the scuff mark on your DRLs too. In England we have a product called Duraglit Brasso Wadding. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/64/Brassowadding.JPG/1200px-Brassowadding.JPG
    It's basically glass fiber rockwool insulation material, soaked in white spirit. I'm sure you'll have something similar in the USA. If you rub hard enough and for long enough, it gradually reduces/removes scratches in hard clear plastic. Just be careful not to damage your white painted bodywork with it.

    Good job, looks great. I scratch the front bumper of my Z aswell and think i'll end up doing something similar in the future.

      Yeah I wish i added more white and blended it a bit farther. Not bad tho, it was a fun project!

    You didn't use a primer, that along with a couple of more base coats would have made sure you didn't see the black below.

    Nice repair for the price! Can you give me the product link that you used for this repair? I have 370z with white pearl and I got some rock chips that I want to fix. Thanks :)

    Nice job but for 100 bucks more you have a professionell repair and no stress :D

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all lol. This is a pearl white paint. I worked at a dealership when I repaired this, and our painter, who paint McLarens, Lambos and high end vehicle quoted over $400. To actually have a perfect paint job done, it costs money. A $100 paint job won't match for this type of work lol. In the business I've seen $100 paint jobs. Not a good idea on a nice car

    Love your channel btw! I am seriously considering trading in my 16' STI for a Nismo 370, I used to own a 06' 350z and ever since I sold it I've been missing the Z! some knock the z's saying they don't have enough power or what not but once you drive one there is nothing like!

      @BrosFOURRSpeed  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new STI is definitely an amazing 4 door, but I of course will side with trading for the Nismo!

    Should have primed the bondo area before painting would have eliminated the dark coloration

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I needed a lighter color to cover the black body filler. Not too bad tho
