Hey Mark, In case you’re still wondering: The scratching sound in the aircraft is totally normal. It’s the planes hydraulic system that diverts the pressure from one of three systems to a different and that sound was the pump that performs this pressure change. So nothing to worry about! :D Big fan of your work! You have so much passion for what you do. I’m looking forward to every video!
What I love the most about Mark Wiens is that he is the same loving person with everyone he gets along (around the world), which is a lesson for everyone of us;especially in a world of growing intolerance.
Mark, you are a legend. Your vlogs are absolutely entertaining, informative and sincere. Your family are also an asset to your success. Very soon you will reach the five million mark as your lovely son is growing up before our eyes. God bless you and your creative effort.
I flew this route with Lao airlines in 2000 on a plane with propellers and also a hole in the floor right where I was sitting, scariest flight ever. Loving your series of videos on Laos Mark.
Those scratching sounds are normal. It's more often called the 'barking sound'. The sound is caused by the hydraulics system of the plane, when the engines are instructed to power off. It happens often with airbus A320, like this one! Srry for my bad English : )
Another awesome video Mark! The airport is cozy and the airline staff are friendly! Looking forward to the next review bro'! More power and God bless from the Philippines!
Love your videos, your enthusiasm for food and for people. I also like that one-of-a-kind smile you're always wearing. Don't you ever let anyone wipe that off of your face. :)
5.40-5.42 wow the leanback looks super comfy. I wouldn't have expected that. I love how the Airport Authority of Laos pays attention to small but very important details, while our waiting seats at Suvarnnabhumi are...........Anyway...mmmmm I love the Laos airport seats.
Great to see this from your perspective Mark, I live in Laos and visit luang Prabang often as its my nearest town for supplies. Yet again, good job buddy.
it takes even 4h from Vang vieng to Luang prabang by minivan-even on the new road.Road in the mountains gets floated away every time it rains-so the rebuild it new again everytime, which takes about an hour.

Laos looks like a beautiful country . People seem so friendly.
Happy to see Joel is still with you in your travels!!!
Who is he?
That scratching or sawing sound is normal for Airbus aircraft. It is made by the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) driving the hydraulic systems.
It’s also called the barking dog 🐶
Very nice indeed to see kru Joel again, a real gentleman indeed!
Look at little Micah pushing his pram!!!! So cute!
