March 2018
The previous time I traveled from Vientiane, Laos to the northern city of Luang Prabang I took a bus. But the bus is quite a long journey, and with a baby, on this trip we decided to fly with Lao Airlines.
Lao Airlines is the national airline of Laos. It was just a very short 30 minute flight from Vientiane to Luang Prabang, but it all went smoothly. We checked in at Vientiane and went through security in about 15 minutes. The flight was only about 30 minutes, and we landed in Luang Prabang.

Thank you for watching this Lao Airlines food and travel review.

Hey Mark,
In case you’re still wondering:
The scratching sound in the aircraft is totally normal. It’s the planes hydraulic system that diverts the pressure from one of three systems to a different and that sound was the pump that performs this pressure change. So nothing to worry about! :D
Big fan of your work! You have so much passion for what you do. I’m looking forward to every video!
Mark, you just see the silver lining in everything. Such a positive dude👍
What I love the most about Mark Wiens is that he is the same loving person with everyone he gets along (around the world), which is a lesson for everyone of us;especially in a world of growing intolerance.
Micah is growing up in front of our eyes! 💜
He's got TEETH! Just as cute as the dickens. Nothing seems to faze him, ever.
Tumi eto shundor keno?? Problem ki tmr??
I wonder what he will think about it when he grows up.
So true :D
Love this !!
Laos looks like a beautiful country . People seem so friendly.
That scratching or sawing sound is normal for Airbus aircraft. It is made by the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) driving the hydraulic systems.
It’s also called the barking dog 🐶
Look at little Micah pushing his pram!!!! So cute!
Nice, u know its so cute because lil Micah has traveled the world more than most adults😄 have fun in all your adventures Wiens family 👏👏👏
08:11 Micah's sooo cute!!!
Very nice indeed to see kru Joel again, a real gentleman indeed!
I really like that you've categorized your videos like this. Thank you for the hours of entertainment and information!
Interesting video Mark, we had a great time exploring Luang Prabang and finding some new fruits when we visited Laos in 2015.
I love little airports like that!
Mark, you are a legend. Your vlogs are absolutely entertaining, informative and sincere. Your family are also an asset to your success. Very soon you will reach the five million mark as your lovely son is growing up before our eyes. God bless you and your creative effort.
Luang Prabang looks very local, such a beautiful place!!! Thanks Mark.
Happy to see Joel is still with you in your travels!!!
Who is he?
Those scratching sounds are normal. It's more often called the 'barking sound'. The sound is caused by the hydraulics system of the plane, when the engines are instructed to power off. It happens often with airbus A320, like this one!
Srry for my bad English : )
Alexander Anderson your English is great 👌
Juliet Marlowe thank you! ; )
Micah is getting so big!! He's beyond adorable ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I flew this route with Lao airlines in 2000 on a plane with propellers and also a hole in the floor right where I was sitting, scariest flight ever. Loving your series of videos on Laos Mark.

Nice video mark and family 💓😊 hi Joel
The green seats made my head spin 😂
Yes, the scratching noise or "dog bark" as we avgeeks like to call it is the PTU or Power Transfer Unit powering the hydraulics.
