The "er" isn´t supposed to get mute, but it can sound like it gets mute when talking fast or sound like at least the "r" gets mute. Some dialects doesn´t say the "r" in "er".

Yes, sadly it makes it very hard to learn the language at times as everyone just starts speaking english when they realise your struggling. Its lovely and very nice, but it makes harder to learn :)

Unnskyld brukes hvis du har gjort noe og føler deg skyldig. Du kan også bruke unnskyld hvis du f.eks må gå forbi mange mennesker. Beklager kan kanskje høres litt mer formelt ut, og hvis du skal si "I´m sorry" til noen du kjenner godt, passer nok unnskyld best.
Beklager kan du ofte høre i butikker, spesielt om de ikke har varen du leter etter. F.eks "Beklager, vi er tomt for rundstykker."
