My father sang the National Anthem in this stadium for (at that time) The Houston Oilers (Tennessee Titans). This will forever be my memory of him as he passed away this very week.
To think of all the life that was in there on April 1st, 2001 for Wrestlemania 17 and to look at it now all quiet, abandoned, and used now by the looks for storage is kind of depressing. That’s where The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin had they’re most legendary match.
Man so many memories. Astros, Oilers, High School Football games, Labor Day Classic, Rodeo, Monster Truck shows, Wrestlemania 17, Texas Terror games even...Haven't been inside of it in almost 20 years. Wish they would open it occasionally for Stros, Texans, College, and High school football games
From Edge & Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz to Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon to the mega main event between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock. This PPV had it all the vibe, the pyro, amazing wrestling matches and a hot crowd summed up WrestleMania 17. April 1, 2001 will be the date that I will always remember
They built a 350 million dollar stadium just footsteps away instead of refurbishing the Astrodome and now they don't even know what to do with it. It sucks
Man I miss this place so much. Probably saw 200 ballgames in the bleachers over the years. The last 5 years, the stros were so good, and gen admission was a mere 10 dollars. Great place to take in a game. We never went near as much to Enron after that. The good old days are gone just like my hairline 😂
George Strait riding his horse around the stadium after singing Cowboy Rides Away or Unwound.. As well as Selena.. So many Memories and yes buzz sound of killer bees as Astros players got hits and coming up too bat..
That stadium is beautiful love the ceiling. They really should get either a 2nd football team in Houston or get a basketball team in Houston and have them play in the Houston Astrodome
Who can forget the 1968 Final Four and then the UCLA vs Houston game? Also the site where the Oilers had their pep rally in 1979. Plus, the Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl, Indoor Soccer, and the Rockets celebrating their two NBA championship rallies inside the Dome in 1994 and 1995. And my personal favorite: The Dome's famous scoreboard....
I was at both the 1994 and 1995 concerts for Selena. Also saw Sony and Cher in 1974!!!! Astrodome has seen some really awesome artists perform here!
You was for Selena in 1994? Wow! These concert its unseen nowadays. Do you remember the setlist of the concert?

Curtis Lenox Why is it not being used? Doesn’t the Astrodome have a massive history hosting popular events?
And the best concert ever aka Selena’s last concert🥺
Y imaginar que ahi estuvo selena quintanilla
wow. so many baseball games, rodeos, thrill shows, monster truck shows, tractor pulls...
great memories.

Houston already has a basketball team. And they play at an appropriate sized arena. Basketball in stadiums this big is terrible.
it be crazy if a spring training game was played here similar to the Blue jays playing at Olympic park in Montreal
Harrison Peloso So, would people bring their own seats? Thousands have been removed
Houston, we have a problem.-
yeah
WrestleMania 17

Here's your winner and NEW World Wrestling Federation Champion, STONE COLD Steve Austin
Y pensar que ahí estuvo Selena hace 25 años
I wish it were still used as a stadium.

If only the astros still played in there
Why did they remove the seats
Cren que fue por Selena?
Creo
Why did they take the stage down😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Didnt the bad news bears play there ? In the movie ?
Sure did. Bad News Bears in Breaking Training.
The Roughnecks should play at the Astrodome if they could fix it up.
Times have changed the continental airlines banner. Now it’s United airlines. :(
