We have this engine in our Mastercraft. Quick question, why do you need an extractor to drain oil through this hose? Does it have to come up above oil pan to go through drain hole? We have a bottom drain hole in the engine compartment close to oil pan. Could we send the hose out there and gravity drain into a bucket?
You can do it from inside, especially if you have an fluid pump or an extractor tool like the one I used in the video. The hose out the back just let’s gravity help the flow.
Could you show or describe (in relation to the oil filter for example) where the oil pressure sensor is on this engine? We have the same exact boat and engine, just replaced oil and oil filter, though the gauge shows no oil pressure at all - we believe it is faulty as the oil level is stable. Thank you!
I am still trying to figure out why you are farting around with a pump. The reason the quick drain hose is there is to avoid all that pump crap. Over 40 years of draining my inboards just drop hose out remove cap and stick it in a container crack a beer and relax! Oh I am sorry for some of you that's probably a white claw.
I’d be putting amsoil 100% synthetic in my boat! Try it on the new one!
You must be an amsoil dealer??
Myks Garage no I’m not

Yeah you can just gravity drain it, it will take a long time to do that. If you’re going to gravity drain? I would let it drain overnight
Myks Garage Thanks! We are going to give it a try this weekend. Appreciate your video!

Myks Garage, do you absolutely have to run the oil drain hose out the back? Or can you complete this process all from inside the boat?

I’m not sure where the sensor is located. Are you sure you have a tight seal on the oil filter?
How do i reset the replace oil light on the mastercraft
Should be an option on the screen
Do you know what the "short" version of this oil filter is?
I’m not sure

Myks Garage thanks but I’m from France 😜
Just search online for a “1/4 npt female barb fitting”

Great video, I have the same engine in my new Campion SV3/SFara surf boat. Do you know how to set the idle?
I don’t know how to set the idle. I’m guessing you would need to do it through the ECU?
@@Myksgarage Thanks will check that out
@@Myksgarage what is that pump/tool you use to drain the oil out called?
It’s called a “top sider”. But you can get any oil extractor tool to work
Will it drain without the vacuum?
Link to the Barb fitting referenced in the Video: amzn.to/3jSseKq
thanks for watching!
