Was so lucky to be there for this night… He played my favorite version of Kiss with 3rd Eye Girl (heavy funk vibe). And a stunning performance of Sometimes It Snows In April.
Nothing compares to how SINEAD took that little dittie Prince handed to Her as She knocked it out of the park - singing Her heart out as any smart musician would with a Prince masterpiece; or compares to how Prince has repeatedly tragically tried to reclaim this song numerous times since forever eclipsed by his own magic & generosity. After SINEAD shaved Her head & made other genuine REBEL REVOLUTIONARY THOUGHTFILLED artistic gestures, the industry & a certain part of Her base almost made Her a pariah, yet Prince recognizing Her gifts & heart & soulfullness gave Her one of the loveliest feminine HITS of all time to help set the record straight. Nothing compares to how Prince gave spotlights to WOMEN MUSICIANS/ARTISTS - singers, guitarists, drummers, dancers - as no other MALE artist has ever done before or since with their own art. Too many “crazy bands of boys” have almost muted the diverse talents of women artists; Prince attempted to set the record straight.
Prince did not gift Sinead anything. She was refused when she asked for his permission to cover NC2U. Permission, meaning his blessing and the foregoing of paying for the licensing of his song. With neither of those things attained, she did is what every other singer who’s covered Prince without consent has done….. Pay the huge licensing cost and render damn near 100% of royalties to Prince…Tom Jones, the Eels, Foo Fighters AND sinead (among many others) have forked over millions to Prince. The price of covering without consent is painful. Sinead had a huge hit. But she couldn’t buy a ham sandwich with the money that song generated.
Nobody does this song better than Prince!!💜💜

One of the best if not the best versions of this classic. Is it Prince on the piano?
Her name is Cassandra. Can’t remember her last name.💜🕊️
@@joiisler8986 It´s Mrs. C. Wilson at the keys
