I believe it’s more because of the surgery .
Had to watch this video again. Today is the day our Sherpie passed and it was wonderful to see these 2 boys together one last time. So glad that they got to be together one last time before his passing. So many people have been blessed to see their friendship throughout the years. Thank you, Jodie and Jamie, for sharing this precious gift with the world. ❤ You have brought us so many smiles.

I've been watching some old videos from when he was so vocal. 🥰
I remember old videos where Sherpa would howl to random strangers, the one where he talked with a priest in a huge cathedral was embarrassing to Jaime but we all loved it.

@@HobbyOrganistno, you can't replace a pet. sure u can get another one but given them the same name does not make it less sad and dogs know the difference. I'm sure Key would like any dog but dogs know who their friends are.

I just realized that if Jamie were to come over again, Key would be looking for Sherpa. So sad.
Our scent changes as we near the end, Key could smell Sherpa and knows.
Our pets communicate in ways we no longer understand, they, like all animals have kept their "sixth sense" which most of us have lost.
@lapsedluddite3381 animals can smell tumors, too. Key probably knew long before the humans.
I think Key knew Sherpa was unwell, He could smell the changes.
He was sniffing his behind quite a lot and being very very gentle even while being hyper and excitable.

@@lapsedluddite3381 In Jamie's alternate video of Sherpa coming over for the last time you can clearly see Key detecting the cancerous tumor on Sherpa's right leg. And if you look closely in this video you can see it also on a number of occasions. Dogs are truly remarkable.

Yes the howl. I watched Sherpa's last few videos and hoped he would howl one more time. But alas it didn't happen. RIP Sherpa.

I’ve watched this a couple times now to better observe the interactions. Since dogs learn by sensory stimulation more than Jodi’s English, he probably knew more going on how Sherpa was recovering than his humans. Sherpa’s smell, body language told Key he needed to be gentle. But you can see the moment Key does the stunt roll for Sherpa he reacts with a doggy smile. It’s clear as a bell. He was cheered by Keys acts
Fwiw, dogs also understand a lot of the Queen’s English too! Gentle + Sherpa are two words he could recognize

I believe Key did know. When Sherpa arrived, Key was heavily sniffing the left side of Sherpa's body, where the cancer was concentrated. Key was also crying a bit in the living room. The fact that Key was extremely gentle with Sherpa suggests he knew his friend was very sick. Dogs can often smell illness.
I'm glad that Sherpa and Key got to see each other. At least they could share their love before Sherpa died.

this would have been the last meet n play date of She-Key i suppose... That joy in their eyes greeting each other a friendship of the century... will miss this but will watch old videos and relish the memories. Key will surely miss him more than we will i guess.

I just recently watch the last video of Sherpa, it was heart breaking and I can feel how heavy Jamie felt that time. I cried when he was saying the final moments of Lord Sherpa.

Sherpa was a gift & I am so very thankful that you chose to share him and his gift with the world! My family & I have grown along with you & Sherpa. We are mourning the loss as if a family member has passed. Our hearts hurts for you, Sister Sarah, Key, Boo, Granny but mostly it hurts for Sherpa. Our world need him now more than ever but his spirit endures & his kindness, humor & compassion will never be forgotten. My family had sent him treats the past few years, I hope he enjoyed them & the dogs of your local rescues liked them as well. Jamie, you & yours are in our thoughts, hopes & prayers.
