2 suggestions: i personally do this for my hair. Wet it with a spray bottle. Then i put shampoo on it and use that poplar brush for natural hair. I brush(game-changer for me) to get the knots out and kinks. I Then wash it. Condition it. Detangle and leave in Conditioner. Use natural curl products to do little coils on the back. Refresh before it gets dry so it wont be hard to detangle or hurt as bad. 2. Get her dolls with hair and let her wash or put product(from dollar tree) on theirs as playtime. Let her participate in putting product and her hair and brag on how good she is doing and looks.

If I could show you my granddaughter's hair 😂😂😂😂 She is the same age as Malaika. All I know is that we're not cutting it. Sometimes she allows me to touch it, sometimes she doesn't, and I just leave it like that after moisturizing it.
Love family ! Have you tried a leave in detanglingin & conditioning spray to loosen your daughter's hair for some styling and to prevent breakage. Just massage it in with your fingers. While hair is moist try the twists and baby hair (withe a it of conditioning gel for smoothingI know it's not easy but this may help. I don't pretend to know what is best for your little girl but this may help. We know we have to train our hair for management. Best wishes to your family and especially cute pie Malyka !!!🤗

If you don't already you one; it may be helpful to use a satin or bamboo sleep bonnet (get size of course) to help the moisture in her hair and to prevent breakage while sleeping (especially for her sides and back hair).
