The monster in the beginning was only trying to protect its baby and never tried to hurt anyone, which is why it was also protective of the human child. It literally allowed itself to be murdered just to protect its kid. Remember that there are good monsters. Think about the Slime Monster in season 1 that saved the kid.

The one who killed the big monster was not the one who let the baby go. he even stopped them earlier from doing too much with the big monster. They resignified that by showing the dialogue about how the other dude was mad he let the baby go.

The way I interpret the scene of them killing the big monster when the guy says they only kill ones that harm humans is, they assume the big monster is the reason many humans in that area died, despite seeing a bunch dying from gunshot wounds, others died from the bomb, or being run over by panicking people. So my 'assumption' is that they believe the monster caused harm to Humans and deemed it a threat, even though they didn't see it happen. Thats the only logical explaination for why he went through with killing the big one despite letting the infant one go and giving the line of only killing ones that harm humans. (which 'technically' it did though only through self defense when the one idiot jumped on top of it.)

If you like sweet home read the webtoon with bastard, shotgun boy , they're all connected and its really a freaking good story the kdrama is fine but the webtoon is much better

I gave s2 a try but dropped it at ep 4. The charm of the season 1 is just that it was never seen before, doing it for the second time and not offering something new just didn't work for me (and a lot of other people). I feel like if they introduced another kind of power for s2 it'd be better.

CGI was horrible and this whole season is just a filler, and they wasted some of our greatest characters.
