This song is so deep. There are so many valid interpretations. My favorite is that this song is about his aged godmother who is dealing with the Sundowning (the album title) symptoms of Alshiemers. This may be referenced in the hip hop section of Take Me Back To Eden with the line:
White roses, black doves, Godmother, rise up
I need you to see me for what I have become.
The tangled like lovers refers to their intimacy of their relationship.
This may also be from his perspective with Sleep. Going to sleep is his escape from the tortures of the real world; See Fields of Elation from One. He is experiencing Sundowning when he goes to sleep.
Your initial view is also a good one. All of these are possible because of great writing.

I know I *just* commented on another one of your videos about a live performance, BUT...
Vessel did a show at a place called Lafayette in London, and it was him solo. There are two more videos of that performance that you should really check out. They include an actual message from Vessel... but additionally: if you think he managed to make a piano sound heavy in *this*, you're about to have your mind blown; and you can hear Vessel singing the highest notes. It's absolutely beautiful.
The two videos are titled:

It's not TH-cam. The issue is with Spinefarm which is who ST produces their albums through. Any full album reaction gets blocked for some reason. Singles are good to post though. Brits man. Lol.
