I am probably wrong but I think the scarlet (infrared) and ultraviolet refers to wanting opposite things. Infrared and ultraviolet being at opposite sides of the light spectrum. I watched your full album reaction and now I'm here again rewatching the individual videos! What a hold Sleep Token have on me! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

Youre not wrong In Light Spectrum, the 2 opposite colors are Scarlet and Violet.
I agree on the scarlet and ultraviolet lines referring to the two wanting different things. Just like when he says "you need a melody, I only need the silence." Again, it's the two of them needing/wanting different things and driving them to fight over it. Worship!

Sleep Tokens songs are pretty much always about relationships and or love. Looking at the songs through that lens usually helps you put some things into place. Giving you more than the debt that I owe could be taken as someone not loving you back, or not matching your energy. Love that you're going down the rabbit hole! Worship :)
The thing about Scarlet, Ultraviolet, Silence, and Melodies is that they aren’t just different things, they’re OPPOSITES. He’s not saying that want completely different things, but rather that one wants what the other doesn’t and vice versa. VERY toxic.

The line, " 'Cause I look for scarlet and you look for ultraviolet", could also mean that he looks for signs of selfharm on her, and she looks for signs of drug use on him. I'm not sure, but that's something I've seen in discussions. Btw I'm loving this journey you're on! Worship!
To me, this song is from the point of view of Sleep or the lover explaining their needs and wants are different, and Sleep owes him nothing for that... This is a very narcissistic way of saying I will use you the way I want, and I owe you nothing, so get used to it. You know you like it anyway!
