Chris, would you be able to see if the a7iv + battery grip would work on the rs3 mini? I can see already the up and down adjustable is almost all the way down, I’m wondering if a battery grip wouldn’t allow it to be balanced ? Input or experience would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Great review. Would you recommend this setup (RS3 mini + sony A7IV) for long walking tour videos (between 30 and 60 minutes)? I never used a gimbal before and I'm not sure how realistic it is, in term of weight, to hold a gimbal with a camera on top for longer walks.
Will be new to this.. man the balancing looks challenging!
@mattm7426 I’ve been balancing gimbals for years, you don’t need to lock to balance but it can make it easier for people just starting out
Do you have to use their special plate or can you keep a peak design plate on so strapping it back to your shoulder capture is easy?

How do you balance with a mic? The vertical tilt arm isnt long enough to accommodate

I have a A7iV + Sigma 24-70 setup. And I am confused in between the mini and Rs3. I plan to shoot weddings, real estate and for youtube. which would you recommend? Btw may I ask which apple watch case you're using in the video?

That's my current setup , Canon eosR with Canon macro lens 100mm RF .
Also, I want to ask if can I fix led light on the cam. Or the gimbal while vediography

I will be mainly shooting faces , smiles & and teeth, so I need very sharp results & want to get all the fine details of the teeth , And sure, i want to shoot with 4K, but it's extremely difficult because of the crop broblem , i was thinking about
14 - 35 RF , or the 24 - 70 RF .. SO what do u recommend & if there is a better option.
Regading light, i had a pair of the Godox M1 RGB Mini , but I don't know how will it be the result yet .. what do you think ??

Lock the motors when you balance your gimbal, otherwise you can brake your screen or get a heavy scratches on your lens!
Are both Sony mics working at the same time?

Hey how you doing Chris? I've just ordered a Sony FX30 cinema line camera with 18-105mm and 70-180mm lenses. Could any of these lenses be any of these lenses be possibly mounted with the Sony FX30 on this DJI RS3 mini? If not then could you please suggest something else? Awesome video by the way. Your title says A7IV + FX30 but you never mentioned the A7IV. I was wondering if your going to be doing a dedicated video with the gimbal and just that camera? Awesome video by the way!
Good catch! Those are cameras that appeal more to the masses but weight wise are very similar to the A7SIII and FX3 which will also work. That’s the reason behind the title

You don't show how to balanced the gimbal with the microphone on it. I try with mine and it's very very hard to balance the tilt !

Hi Chris, I just bough an FX30 and just wanted to know if you could confirm all the features work with the RS serie ? because in the DJI website, they do not mention compatibility as they did not test the FX30 for the Ronin gimbals yet. Thank you

I have the same questions. They are different models but the FX30 is supposed to be the more affordable/less fancy version of the FX3. I'm curious if this gimbal will work on FX30 before purchasing since FX30 is not included in the list of compatible models.

I have the Canon R6 Mark II and R7. I’m heavily debating on switching to either an A7SIII and A7IV or two A7IVs. I’m tired of Canon limiting their cameras and lenses and want the greatest low light and dynamic range performance. What would you recommend I do? Switch to Sony or stick to my current cameras?
The reason you want to switch is Justified and many people do the same

will the rs3 mini hold the 24-70 mark 1? Also you should balance the 24-70 in the middle of the zoom range is what i do. RS3 right now. Want the mini for less weight lol

Random question - Is the port keys monitor better than the Atomos Shinobi?? I'm looking to buy a monitor for my A7IV )dont need external recording) but want to make sure it supports face tracking and touch to focus

@@chrisbrockhurst Thank you so much for responding. I was talking about the Portkeys LH5P ii that you have posted about but I'm open to ANY monitor that allows me to use the Sony functions like seeing the AF square and face tracking on the screen while recording!
@@chrisbrockhurst I've seen the portkeys monitor that supports touch to autofocus but I find it so strange that there isn't one monitor on the market that shows the touch tracking box on it. I feel like I would constantly be looking at the LCD screen which defeats the whole purpose of a monitor. Any advice?
No idea why I can’t orbit or pan in an arc very smoothly with this gimbal. Never had issues with any other gimbal. Can you share your follow speed, pan stiffness strength etc?

You can actually use the Pgytech quick release plate with this. Not sure about using a Peak Design one cos I don't have it.
When your balancing lock the other axis, your making it so hard for yourself

FX30 does not appear on the compatibility list of DJI gimbals....so no functions controlled from the gimbal...STUPID

I tried it with A7S3, a Tilta cage and 16-35mm F4 PZ, but it doesn’t balance well. 🥹 It’s unfortunate
Lose the cage and it’ll work fine. Cage is unnecessary weight
