Hey Everyone! In this video I share a great way to create an effect that looks like water but doesn't actually use fluid simulation within Blender 3d. Enjoy and let us know what you would like to learn next on our channel!

Great tutorial! thanks. How can we add motion blur to these particle metaballs? Unable to get the motion blur effect

Hmmm. I'd have to play around with the settings a bit more. Are you rendering in Cycles?

    • @mukesh.m

Yes cycles, using meatballs as render object not showing the motion blur. With other objects it works

I think you could consider making it very clear that the video does NOT require GeoFX. I initially came into the video, because of the title, which implies it's something one can do directly in Blender. Then, when I saw the descriptoin and the 'available in geofx market' etc, I felt like I'd been scammed, but I randomly kept watching, and finally realized that the technique described in this video does NOT require GeoFX.

This is genius and actually looks really good...
Can you export it into Unreal or other programs?

Great tip 👍 I never use the metaballs but great use of them. Also… love the GeoFX addon 👍 it’s very cool. 👌

Thanks so much Paul!!! I've barely used metaballs until this haha. They are super useful for these little simulations though!

It seems like particle system can manipulate a thin fluid whereas the fluid system is hard to achieve

Hi there. I'm not sure what you mean.If you are referring to Blender's fluid system yes it can be a bit tricky at times.
