WOW Joey. You're reaching truly epic levels of inspiring activism and content creation brother 🙏 this story is a paradigm of what the vegan movement is all about
I grew up from age 5 up on a farm. We had cows chickens and pigs and my step dad took part in killing the cows and pigs. I never understood how he could do that and keeps saying that they all had personalities and were all different. I wanted to stop eating all meat at about 7 or 8 because I witnessed one of the killings and couldn't handle it but was forced to keep eating it. I again in my early teens said I wanted to stop eating meat and I wanted to be vegan but my step dad said fine but you will no longer eat any of my food and you will have to buy everything yourself because I will not support you. I was 14 at the time. I have finally followed my heart and I have been vegan for 4 years.
I had to put everything in the back of my head and forget it. My Ma and step dad are dead now so I wanted to finally in my life be ME!! I am the only Vegan in my entire family but both my adult daughters are very supportive of me. My oldest and her husband always find place we can eat at and make sure there is food for me and I live with my youngest and she does the same plus she also buys food for me.
They do look it. When I look into a cow's facial expression, I see a very similar expression as a person who is just simple. And I certainly would never wish harm on a person like that, so I therefore feel the same way about the cows
This farmer did something so many people can't: realized what he was doing was wrong, admitted it, and is working to fix it and do it in a way that contributes to his remaining animals and his community. If I was the Queen of England, I'd knight him in a second. We need more people like him.

This may be one of the most valuable vegan activism videos I have seen in a while. So many people I talk to say that "If you ever had to work on a farm, you wouldn't be vegan."
They tell themselves anything and everything to not be compassionate. I worked on farms, hunted, fished, eaten many different animals. People can change.
OP do you ever appeal to their knowledgeability and experience in recognizing animal sentience? For example, as Joey mentioned, whether they like to overtly admit it or not, farmers are likely to have a more in depth knowledge and depth of experience in recognizing animal sentience given that they live with these poor victims in close contact frequently.
Wow! Kudos to this awakened soul. "You have to realise what you did previously was wrong" That's one big admission. I hope this couple do great things in their lives with their cows. Those cows are happy cows x
Oh wow hey Lark! Didn't expect you here. I noticed you talked about the future of clean meat in one of your videos and I totally agree with you. I had suspicions that maybe you were one of us. Now, I'm even more suspicious. 👀 Love your content btw!
LARK OMG, as if I could be a bigger fan. From what you said in your index funds video I had a feeling you might be vegan. Can't say I expected to see a comment from you here though!

All these vegans clapping and crying say this is the way forward is laughable, aye we will stop all this local food production for 6 bottle of oats juiced on site a week. I’m ashamed this is going on in the uk.
@Joe Marley the cows are much happier there than at a slaughter house I can guarantee you that. Also, it looked like it was cold outside to the cows were in their shelter. They probably also have another area so roam. You haven't seen the whole farm so don't assume.

@@gregshearer423 My in laws are beef farmers they treat their cows the same way. But since one day they will be sent to the slaughter house you people say that people in animal agriculture treat are evil. Plus these people probably dump the cow's food in feeding trays just like any other person involved in animal agriculture. They also dispose of the cow's manure the same way.
I dated a cattle farmer for several months. He was kind and loved animals, ate mostly vegetarian and was open to veganism as well. It was 100% the cost of changing that prevented him from converting the family farm into a farm for plants. He even told me that all of the ranchers in that area were either vegetarian or would trade meat with each other because they didn't want to eat the animals they were caring for. Animal consumption is not in our nature. We want to love animals, not murder them.
its in our nature to kill animals for food. whats not natural is factory farming.. humans get attached to even inanimate objects if not careful. ofcourse you will love your farm animals you care for every day whole day. only difference between farm animal and pet is that you mercy kill your pet after it accumulates diseases from old age and it doesnt live healthy life anymore. while you mercy kill the farm animal before it starts getting diseases, and to maximize profit. if you look at "blood warriors" in africa. they care and value their cattle so much, that they almost never kill them for food. they only cut their throat a bit to gather their blood without killing the animal, and then milk them. they are surviving of blood and milk of their cattle for centuries if you live in first world country ofcourse you will assume its not in our nature to eat animals. because you can go to grocery store and buy a banana that was grown across the world and shipped to you.
Well done Joey👏 I've only recently (last few days) joined your movement. I've been a vegetarian for a couple of years and there is a widespread condemnation (generally warranted) of farmers, so I really applaud you trying to uncover one of the very few farms that conduct their business with the animal's welfare at the heart of their agrarian model. So so much respect to you for bringing this alternative story to light. You really are an inspiration and proud to be part of the movement and on my way to being one of veganism's footsoldiers. Keep up your tremendous work. I have helped to move my mum towards veganism and my auntie and her partner are moving in that direction too. Its incredibly transformative this movement and feel very humbled to be part of it🙏
Dairy farmer's daughter turned vegan here, my dear late father was so compassionate, he loved the cows and hated any stock going to slaughter (they rarely did as the boy calves were sold to a neighbour), he was only doing what his Dad did. Vegetarians also appear to have lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension and type 2 diabetes than nonvegetarians. Furthermore, vegetarians tend to have a lower body mass index and lower overall cancer rates. Features of a vegetarian diet that may reduce risk of chronic disease include lower intakes of saturated fat and cholesterol and higher intakes of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, soy products, fiber, and phytochemicals."

"Well planned vegetarian [and strict vegetarian] diets can be nutritious and healthy. They are associated with lower risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, certain cancers and lower cholesterol levels. This could be because such diets are lower in saturated fat, contain fewer calories and more fiber and phytonutrients/phytochemicals (these can have protective properties) than non-vegetarian diets." - British Dietitians Association

This may be one of the most valuable vegan activism videos I have seen in a while. So many people I talk to say that "If you ever had to work on a farm, you wouldn't be vegan."
Right?! Joey really outdid himself this time 😁💯🙏♾️🌎
They tell themselves anything and everything to not be compassionate.
@@ParadymShiftVegan most farmers are far wiser than you will ever be

Great stuff Joey! Props to the that farmer!
Wow Lark, don't tell me your vegan too? Love your channel
Oh wow hey Lark! Didn't expect you here. I noticed you talked about the future of clean meat in one of your videos and I totally agree with you. I had suspicions that maybe you were one of us. Now, I'm even more suspicious. 👀 Love your content btw!
Yes lark! I could tell u were vegan from your glowing skin 😎 $QNT FTW
LARK OMG, as if I could be a bigger fan.
From what you said in your index funds video I had a feeling you might be vegan. Can't say I expected to see a comment from you here though!
This guy ain’t a farmer, he’s a glorified oat blender. He doesn’t even produce the oats. COVID apparently delays veg from growing and his yard is a state. All these vegans clapping and crying say this is the way forward is laughable, aye we will stop all this local food production for 6 bottle of oats juiced on site a week. I’m ashamed this is going on in the uk.
So rare to find a dairy farmer with this kind of heart. It needs to be appreciated. Keep up everything Joey! 😌
First time I donated to an animal sanctuary. Not a lot but every little helps I guess :)

He's exploiting the animals
@Joe Marley the cows are much happier there than at a slaughter house I can guarantee you that. Also, it looked like it was cold outside to the cows were in their shelter. They probably also have another area so roam. You haven't seen the whole farm so don't assume.

18:54 "I think when you change, you have to accept that what you did previously wasn't a good thing."
This place was turned from Hell on Earth to Heaven on Earth. I am so happy for the animals that are now free and for the family to change for better
They are still in hell like conditions. They are either in fenced in pastures or a small barn all year round.
Firstly he said that he sent over 60 cows I believe to sanctuary. Then the rest that are in his farm, even though they might live in a small fenced barn, they are being treated like individuals and not Livestock
@@shawndarling5855 hell like conditions fed watered get all the vet treatment they need guy clearly cares a hell of a lot about them doesn’t sound to bad to me
@@gregshearer423 My in laws are beef farmers they treat their cows the same way. But since one day they will be sent to the slaughter house you people say that people in animal agriculture treat are evil.
Plus these people probably dump the cow's food in feeding trays just like any other person involved in animal agriculture. They also dispose of the cow's manure the same way.
@@shawndarling5855 ignorant.
What a kind beautiful soul he is
I dated a cattle farmer for several months. We want to love animals, not murder them.
its in our nature to kill animals for food.
whats not natural is factory farming..
humans get attached to even inanimate objects if not careful.
ofcourse you will love your farm animals you care for every day whole day.
only difference between farm animal and pet is that you mercy kill your pet after it accumulates diseases from old age and it doesnt live healthy life anymore.
while you mercy kill the farm animal before it starts getting diseases, and to maximize profit.
if you look at "blood warriors" in africa.
they care and value their cattle so much, that they almost never kill them for food.
they only cut their throat a bit to gather their blood without killing the animal, and then milk them.
they are surviving of blood and milk of their cattle for centuries
if you live in first world country ofcourse you will assume its not in our nature to eat animals.
because you can go to grocery store and buy a banana that was grown across the world and shipped to you.
Just absolutely inspirational, what a great example being made by those farmers and you Joey spreading the word
Thank you, Joseph Jay and Katja.
Well done Joey👏
I've only recently (last few days) joined your movement.
