I have to say, I've been working on how to undo some of the negative effects of technology for so long that I forget that what I am striving for is actually just a new and improved version or "technology" of how to live life. Thanks for bringing more appreciation to the engineers and builders of the world. I will keep working to raise consciousness so that perhaps in the future we can divert more energy from defense into beauty and prosperity. Ride on, earth folk!

Wouldn't suprise me if this series undergoes a somewhat similar trajectory like bitcoin itself. Relatively small but healthy increase of views in the beginning, given its length, dens- and complexity. Once certain network effects gain momentum it then turns into an avalange of wisdom, pouring over everyone who gravitates towards the rabbit hole we all went down one day.
Great idea to frame it in such a series and add your reflection at the end, Robert. You truly unleaashed the beast.
    Epic.
Thanks so much for this inestimable value.
SO IMPORTANT WHAT IS BEING DONE HERE!
Everything is technology and everyone is an engineer.

Ok, those reviews at the end of the video are Gold, can’t thank you enough, it does two things:
    - cements the knowledge hearing it a second time in a less improvised and a more summarized way.
    - if a long time passed before resuming a video (these series are naturally long), revisiting the topics in this way makes it like having retaking it without the feeling of having had to redo it all over again.
My first series watched was the Jason Lowery US Space Force guy, this is my second. The best part of these? It teaches about key aspects of EVERY FREAKING THING Homo sapiens related actually… mostly towards economics (which I can now say that economics is about energy)
Came here for a bit of Bitcoin info curiosity… stayed for a whole lot more

Talk about masterfully looking back thousands of years into history of mankind and civilisation and finding the common/golden threads that influence our rise and fall and applying those as powerful insights and metaphors to today's times. Michael is a great example of a dot-connector of the highest level. We are not just witnessing human wisdom at play here but a potent combination of that and an expansive and deep human imagination.

These talks are criminally underrated and I'm glad Saylor agreed to these.
It will be interesting to see what percentage of the bitcoin wealth transfer goes to smart people like Mr.Saylor and other hard working innovative people. Idk , but at this rate it feels like there will be 2 economies ubi fiat people and people who use crypto. Strap in for the future folks

I truly am fascinated by the various stitching together of select human experiences to meet one’s endpoint. As the saying goes, ‘Hindsight is 20/20.’ However, I, too, have contemplated the thought of why did many cultures have abstained from wheeled vehicle production when, as in the case of the potter’s ‘wheel’, a spinning disc (ie. boulders down a hill, the sun, moon, whirlpools, etc.) are right in-your-face. We just should not be so uppity as to ignore our present condition will be as viewed by future thinkers as to things obvious to them obscure to us now. On an island, perhaps our ancestors were remnants of a ‘wheeled’ enlightened society that rose to the heights of exquisite near total human mass extinction (ie. nuclear/atomic bombs). I missed mind-reading class, thank God! You humans are quite the good faith bad faith 2 sided ‘coin’. Oh! Try using ENSLAVED over slave; cause MOST ARE DEBT ENSLAVED. Desideratum is rampant. Great discussions. From 🌺 🌺

Also, we needed to develop computers able to complete the genome project. Then the genographic project to map the movement of DNA over this planet over the last 275,000 years as the brain capacity is theorized to have remained in same state. This project to locate that people that have evolved in to an industrious, compassionate, intelligent, peaceful, on-n-on folk. What more better than in the middle of the ‘Peaceful’ Ocean. There are realms where money translate into good deeds done; not intended, DONE. From 🌺 🌺 thx 🙏

One problem: medieval Europeans never forgot that the Earth is spherical (just look at their paintings of Christ in glory, who holds a spherical world in his hand). Columbus had difficulty securing funding for his voyage not because investors thought he'd sail off the edge of a flat earth, but because they knew the circumference was too big for Columbus to make it all the way to India before running out of supplies. Lucky for Columbus that the Americas were 1/3 of the way there to save him from deprivation.
This may seem like a minor point compared to the main arc, but it's enough to make me have to question many of Saylor's other vignettes that I'm less familiar with.
He's obviously very successful and wise, and I think his main thrust is on point, but this unfortunate error of medieval flat-eartherism is going to require a lot of extra verification work.

The same goes with Native American civilizations not having the knowledge of using the wheel vertically. They knew about it but What they did not have was beasts of burden. Before the arrival of Eurasian animals the only large domesticate was the llama. Most pre-modern civilizations that used the wheel used it on carts or other wheeled vehicles/wagons pulled by animals (oxen, horses, etc). Since Native Americans had no such domesticates (llamas being ill-tempered and the Andes being highly mountainous) they did not use the wheel in the same way as Old World groups. One of the most common uses of the wheel in the Americas was for children's toys. I like Michael Saylor veery much but know I have to fact check every claim he does!
