Never would I have thought to keep and cook them sheep head. For sure the next time I catch them they will be kept and cleaned like you have just taught, and ready to take a bite. Thank you Capt'n Blair for a great video.
My dad and I just moved our go-to fishing location from Sanibel FL to Savannah (red tide and algae blooms finally ran us out). Its been a rough start as we try and figure out the tides/currents and what not but videos like these are great. The Wylde is awesome, just ate there last week! I didn't know you could fry sheepshead whole like that. Hope it tasted as good as it looked!
This show has been one of the best produced, best hosted and has had the best tunes since the beginning but this year you stepped it up a few hundred notches!
I agree, nothing beats a sheepshead for eating. I once served pompano and sheepshead to my family without telling them which was which. They all preferred the sheepshead hands down without hesitation. Great cleaning tips too.
I was using the 7'6" and Jimmy was using the 7'2" inshore for those sheepshead. The sensitivity of the rods worked great. www.addictivefishing.com/tackle-shop to check them out.
Sheepshead will make a preacher cuss! And most everyone else, too. Toughest fish I think I've ever fished for, with the lightest of bites. Nice video all the way thru, complete with the cleaning and into the fryer.
Man I hate that I missed you while you were here! We catch sheepshead mostly inshore. You can typically get some that are a little bigger offshore, but not enough for me to make the ride. Tight lines!
Blair, you need to come fish for sheepies in South Mississippi with the South Mississippi Kayak Fishing Club! We had an insane winter and would love to have you!
Addictive Fishing If you’re able to specify the steel type, you may want to request the same steel that Buck Knives uses in the Clearwater Knife series in the 12C27 steel (which is a high quality Nordic steel similar to that seen in Rapala Knives, not the other two Clearwater Knives in the 1080 series steel knives which are garbage). Holds a hair splitting edge for a very long time, doesn’t take long to restore when it starts to dull, and doesn’t cost fortune at the register!
Wow, that's a huge weight for sheepshead fishing. Those are big fish too! I love catching sheepshead! I had a blast this year at the jetties catching the convicts. We have difficulty getting fiddlers or mud crabs around here. I just use shrimp, but there are definitely some tricks to catching plenty of sheeps on shrimp. Your videos are so awesome, love watching and learning from you. They are delicious man! What a great tip for cleaning these fish cutting along the dorsal. I thought I was the only person who leaves a fillet on while I'm filleting the other side. I hope
Great fillet tip. I will definatey try it next time I catch a fish.
Capt. Blair, great video for catch and cook! Them Sheeepsheads are real tough to catch but like you said great eating. Tight Lines!
One of my favorites.
My favorite fish to catch. I use owner # 1 hooks

I once caught a sheepshead using turkey cold cuts! He was big too!
How far did y’all go offshore
3 miles
@@addictivefishing If you don’t mind me asking were y’all fishing a reef or what ?
@@bfishn1124 It's a small piece of structure Jimmy found.

Way to mix it up Blair with the how to and promoting the local Restaurant. Can not wait to try me a Lews.
What rod and reel is this ?

I don’t know what’s more impressive, the fishing or the fact that you’re wearing winter clothes

AWESOME show/tutorial This is all I fished for growing up,the cats out the bag😉
This was an amazing episode you weren’t lying when you said the new season will be amazing but you should post twice a week.
Great video blair

Loved it brother
Great episode. Love the how to at the end of the episode.
Love This Video; Especially The Cooking Part; Amazing.
Are you only doing TH-cam now? Killer content.
nope, we are headed to Fox Sports SUN in June and Discovery Channel in January.
Great show! What kind of knife were you using?
a dull one.
Addictive Fishing I must be using the same knife!
Lew's is making me a Mogan Series fillet knife!

Wow , very nice , thanks you
Blair when are you coming to Louisiana to fish
Probably this fall.
Can anybody point me at the AF vid that has Captain Heavy in it

Nice change of pace. Rather than fishing the whole time we get to see a little more "after the show."
Notice he breaks off "again" at 8:20 or so. Smackdown braid by far worst braid I've ever used.
Pulled hook, not break off.
@@addictivefishing no he said "it did it again. Everything." He stopped reeling no more slack to reel in.
I can't remember if it was leader or mainline. When you're fishing concrete structure, if you are too late. You lose.
@@addictivefishing yea that's for sure 😂 I personally had bad experience with smack down kept breaking on hook set
"were on the herb river gotta love that" 420 blair confirmed
Sheepshead aren’t bad to fillet I have a video that shows you how to fillet with out cutting through the scales
