    I caught a 350+ lb bull shark in this river while drum fishing back in 2006. The guide said he’s grown up in Oriental on the Neuse and never saw anything like it in his entire life.

    i catch these close the cherry point base. biggest one we caught was 56lbs. been doing it since 1997. btw, you don't need a full moon. i use heavier tackle also. you want a 50lb or better. find the cherry branch road that leads to the river as you are looking out the ferry wall will be on the left. now look straight across the river from there go at a 45 degree path till you hit the drop off. it should be right off the sand bar. go at night. use shad or a 7inch mullet head off on a drum rig. i do this all summer long. north wind

    Hello, I am a big fan of your show and i was thinking, could you do an episode about PGI juvinile tarpon fishing? Because this time of the year i usually catch alot of small snook and tarpon on jerkbaits (X-Raps and Yo-Zuri 3-D Minnows) and small swimbaits such as strike king glass minnows.

      Punta Gorda Isles, in Punta Gorda Florida, the canals by the charlotte harbor, by the I-75 Bridge, If you could try the Tropicana Dr canal, by the point between ponce, i have been seing 120+lb tarpon rolling, also a lot of juvenile snook and tarpon, mainly, the snook are around the docks busting against the seawall! Get those Rapala X-Raps ready!

    • @christianchamberlain3114
      @christianchamberlain3114 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, under the I-75 bridge, i recently caught a 9-lb 30 1/2in snook, and a 7lb 26in snook.

    Is he from Indian River 🤔

  • @bunkman64
    @bunkman64 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    You really should use a larger reel. Anything under a 8000 series increases the chances of sending them down the river belly up. Get 'em in quick, release quick, better chance of survival.

    • @addictivefishing
      @addictivefishing  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Where is the sport in that? Just make sure you revive them well and no problems.

    • @bunkman64
      @bunkman64 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Addictive Fishing There are several problems. We have these things here in North Florida called "Bull Sharks" and they will bite a ROCK just to see what it is. so getting them in quickly is top priority.
      Secondly, to fight a fish to the point of lactic acid build up just for personal enjoyment goes against every fishing ethic I have ever been taught unless you are going to eat said fish.
      These reds are fantastic creatures and enjoying catching them and keeping them safe for future spawning should be not only practiced but passed on to future generations of fishermen/women as well. Just my opinion.
      Love the shows. Great channel!

    • @migesfishing7736
      @migesfishing7736 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Addictive Fishing I didn’t mean specifically in that spot I meant in that part of North Carolina ... I live on the Chesapeake and the big girl rock fish are only there twice a year ... so I was curious if red fish migrate up and down the coast as well ... From what I read after I made this comment is that it seems they migrate from deep to shallow more then north south so hopefully they will be in this sound when I get there 😬👍🏼... figuring out the puzzle and finding fish is what I love most about fishing so I don’t usually hire guides ... that and i am a cheapo 😜👍🏼
