This song popped into my head today remembering my partying days. Had to search the lyrics. The Scene! all the girls here are dressed like they’re going to church or the office…..No hoochie wear anywhere 😂
R.I.P. Jarvis Stroud. We will always love you and always be grateful for you contributions to The Scene. It's 6 O'Clock and it's time to ROCK!!!! www.bostonsmortuary.com/notices/Jarvis-Stroud?fbclid=IwAR1peWdkT8coZVXWV4qYDo6Pc94AAfltZTYnFuj_nRWAqvCO5Y2dfnw-UhY
This group is one of my all-time favorites growing up as a teen in the early 2000s “bounce” was the go to Jam. Sad to hear that such a talented person has passed.
WOW...I know now when I use to hear the older gen talk about " THE GOOD OLD DAYS" when they were referring to the 60's, but man I REALLY do miss the 80's what great times we had, so much fun...
Wow .. This made my day!!!! I remember this .Such a treasure to have these visuals from one of the most Influential and cultural Milestone of Detroit!!
Condolences concerning Jarvis, I never met him but sad to hear nonetheless. I met the other half of this duo when Felix was the music behind Fe-la Antoine as one of the members of the dance troupe. He was always so kind and polite. Do you stay in contact with him? If so, please tell him "Princess" sends her regards. lol
TH-cam: Oh my goodness! Felix and Jarvis. I' open a show for these Guy, at 15teen: As the Dancing Ballerina and Felix & Jarvis. Aww 'man this is ancient (still have the pictures)
This is one of my favorite videos too, especially the first few dancers in the opening spread. Doin' the smurft, yeah! I still don't quite understand the random appearance of the girls joining felix and jarvis on the platform at 2:07 LOL
Ahhhh, when gheri curls were normal and the activator flowed freely. LOL. Who knew that back in 1983, we had about 5 more years of good R&B before it all turned to crap.
Although this performance aired in Detroit March of 83, I specifically remember this being a hit in L.A. 1 year before in 82..... In fact a lot of the dances theyre doing, we were doing in L.A. in 1981
Why aren't there fresh dance party shows like this anymore? I'd say MTV or VH1 could do a throwback or something but I feel as though the Jersey Shore might make a cameo or some shit like that.
Back when life was still a party!

The beginning of the end: no band, no singing, just canned sounds or samples plus monotonous rap. Was fun at the time, but a Trojan horse.
