  • In this video we talk about Temporomandibular Joint pain or TMJ pain in horses. The TMJ is the Jaw joint of the horse and the horse has two, one on either side of the head. Here we show you how to pin point the location of the joint, the symptoms of pain and dysfunction within the joint. We also cover the common causes of problems within the TMJ, along with how the vet will diagnose the problem, with possible treatment plans should your horse be diagnosed with the issue.
As always we finish with how to prevent unnecessary problems within the joint, by improving horse care and training. If you would like to read further on the TMJ we have an article on our website, that will give you more details, you can check the article out at the link below. Once again thank you for watching and we hope to see you again soon.

HOW CAN YOU BE CONTACTED??? have questions, have horse who's lower jaw has been moved (kick?) about an inch off to the right. BRIEFLY: 1. treated for pus wound and xray no break seen 2. people didn't notice he couldn't chew. 3 major weight loss, 4 vet again some arthritis. 5 massage therapy, no progress, 6 we 'rescued' horse now eating pellets, quids hay terribly. 7 vet chiro only found C4 to be out, 8 more xrays nothing found, full dental exam. 9 all 3 vets marveled at excellent teeth. 10 we are doing gentle manipulations of jaw, horse seems to like it. WE NEED ADVICE, this can't be the only horse to ever have this problem.... WHAT should be done? Can it be put back in alignment???
