Thank you for sharing this information. I don't find Head Shaking Syndrome is talked about often, so I appreciate your explanation and advice.

I got results by treating my horse for leaking gut syndrome and feeding him carb X . It has alpha Lipoic acid in it which helped with the trigeminal nerve.

I have 2 head shaking horses so I’m wondering if it’s something on my place. One horse started 3 years before the other. They shake differently but both to the point they are dangerous to ride. One exhibits summer only. I have tried everything! Nose net, fly mask, magnesium with boron helped the most one summer and Equiwinner patch sometimes has temporary relief with one of them. I’ve had back and feet X-ray, ridden in halters, bareback...Everything! 6 years now and at his age of 22 wondering if I should euthanize. Both are excellent horses and it’s a shame we can’t enjoy them. Any advise? Vets have no idea what to do and even think I’m crazy. Of course once they exhibit in the spring you can’t pay me to ride them because it’s dangerous. I did get a couple videos and vet says he doesn’t know. Frustrating

where are you located Linda? I would really love to here of someone trying out CBD for headshaking. I think it may be very effective - but just an educated gut feel at this point.
