Thanks for this honest review. This may compete for the worst first class international product available. I know food catering for flights departing JFK is usually inferior but the meals on this flight were not "first class" at all - they would barely be acceptable in business class. I'm glad they're doing away with the product and hope flagship suite will come with service changes as well.
It puts me in awe how people only try to justify the price of first class with only couple of things like inflight food and service and things like that. The first class price includes stuffs even before boarding the plane like exclusive lounge he went to, priority boarding, space provided, amount of money they spend on aircraft safety, pay of the crew members (If you google, for the long haul flights American airlines pilots are the highest paid in the aviation world making over $500k), also you pay for the the American Airlines Brand. Talking about Inflight stuffs, the reason why First class price is this high is because it is insanely exclusive and has only 8 seats in the entire plane, whereas 48 seats in business class and a flight attendant totally dedicated to those 8 seats. I flew to JFK TO DEL once in first class and it was one of a kind experience.. definitely their services can be improved but it also depends on the person and things like wifi should be complementary.

I agree with what others have said here: serving meals all at once on a tray has no place in international first class, and I don't see how this service is any different than what is offered in business class.

There is no way in the world that I would ever pay $10,000 for inferior quality for anything, not to mention that US carriers just can’t compete with those from other countries, particularly those from Asia and the Middle East. That’s the most pathetic excuse for a meal even In Economy class.
I have to agree with you about the ME carriers having a better business class product, but the prices for those flights are eye-wateringly expensive if they are out of your own pocket. Qatar wants almost $7k round trip from Dubai to NYC with a connection in Doha, while United, the only US carrier currently serving Dubai Int., only charges about $4k for its Polaris seat on the route, and it’s non-stop to boot. I can forgo the extra service and use that $3k for something else, and still have a comfortable, semi-private seat for the 12-13 hr trip back home.
I have booked J/F from Europe to EZE and have been told to wait till the day to see if there is a F class and unsure re compensation for downgrade. Surely this policy shpuld be in place if selling F class but unsure when it will cease.

Great video. It looks like the personal customer service is almost non existent, no greeting at the door, no walking to your seat, the flight attendant almost hit you with the dolly and ignored you...
My question is: "is it way better than Busniss class to justify the extra $$?" Since when business class got the flat bad I can't see the needs of first class, but maybe I am wrong. From this video I can't see much difference with the AA business class. I flew AA business and I found it very comfortable.
The reason why first class is expensive is because it is exclusive. Out of 300 seats in a plane you only have 8 first class seats and 48 business class seats. And the price of first class is not limited to flight only. You get access to better lounges, get bonus miles, priority boarding and more. Service wise there wont be much difference and if you compare the prices as shown Business was also around $8k which is not a big difference.

I didn't like traveling in first class on American airline, I wish the seats were wider, that would be great. I felt like I was traveling business class, traveling from Miami to Buenos Aires Argentina.
Not that I have been that impressed with what AA calls international F, with the width of seat isn't an issue on the 777. I guess unless you have have a huge ass.

It's a shame that so many airlines in the US ban the First Class from their planes. American Airlines is the last First Class airline in the US, the seat and service looks great, a pajama is a must have in First Class but I think more than 10000$ is simply too much for this flight 😁 Every airline should offer complimentary WiFi in Business and First Class 😁

Great advertisement to fly Qatar business. Strange with all the wealthy and corporate passengers they can’t profit from First as BA does and even as Qantas does on the A380 and proposed A350 flights.
I fly Qatar to Asia about twice per year in QSuites, and they are nice, but it’s still expensive, and prohibitively expensive to fly QR back & forth home to the states if I’m paying for it myself.
Qatar business class is not as nice as AA First. QSuites are hyped far too much and offer much less real estate, which is why I fork out the extra money to fly in first class.

AA is certainly the airline with the worst service in the world! I had a terrible experience in business class from NY to Barcelona, where the flight attendant scolded me when I asked for sugar for my coffee, saying that I had to learn how to order a coffee properly! When I asked another flight attendant who was in charge of that flight , I was told that was the same one who attended to me. If a company places these types of rude people in charge of service, imagine the rest.

Flying JFK to DIA with AA against QR is like being punished, independently of any class of service.

First class is definitely not better than business class.

JFKのラウンジはBAの移転に伴ってだいぶ良くなりましたが、AAのファーストは10年以上なんのアップデートもされていないので、ビジネスクラスとの差がわかんなくなっちゃいましたね。昔はビジネスからシステムワイドアップグレードでよく乗りましたが、最近はシステムワイドも使わずに捨てちゃうことが多いです。実際ファーストももうすぐ廃止になってしまうようですし。

Very few actually pay that for F on AA. The cabin is 80+% upgrades and miles redemption. IT's why they are getting rid of it.
