Oh my golly this really brought back memories. The lines, locos and especially the people. Of course as I was an SAR fireman I worked many of these specials right up till 1996. I once knew so many faces in this video. So many good friends from passengers, organisers, train crew and all. Of course many of the locos also I fired on these wonderful trains. What a great video. At the beginning you start off with 15CA 2054 and its great regular driver Andries van Tonder. This great man spent his life on steam and is still with us today and is nearing 90 years old. I worked with him and on his pride loco CHEETA many times. Then at the end you have GMAM 4072 over Lootsberg. This great GMAM was my favorite of the pack. Again I worked her many times but better still I now have her cabside number plate in my collection. Sadly neither 2054 or 4072 exist anymore having been scrapped.
