What are the Benefits of Colostrum? Natural Immune Factors & Growth Factors by Thomas DeLauer

  • antlerfarms.co... Many scientists believe that colostrum is the most powerful preventative food substance that we can consume. Colostrum contains a high concentration of biologically active substances including vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids. However, of all the known components in colostrum, the most beneficial components are its immune factors and growth factors. Immune factors strengthen the body’s immune system to fight disease, while growth factors promote cell growth, development and repair.
    -----
    Hey if it's good enough for baby it's probably good enough for you I'm Thomas DeLauer on behalf of Antler Farms, and today I want to give you the 411 on colostrum. So, colostrum is technically the form of milk that is produced right after a baby is born, but in reality it's not even really a milk, it's more of kind of a clearish yellow liquid that again is produced right after a baby is born. So, the whole purpose of colostrum is to deliver a quick shot of immune support to an infant.
    What we found over the last couple of decades is that colostrum is not so much nutritional as it is truly just a powerhouse of immune support and also specific nutrients that are needed to allow tissues to grow. The main goal of colostrum is to reinforce an infant's immune system. Additionally there's also these tissue and growth factors that are included in colostrum that help an infant grow to be big and strong.
    Now when it comes down to today's utilization of colostrum for an adult population most of it is derived from bovine colostrum. If you're working out or you're just trying to adopt a healthy lifestyle you do need the immune support, because it's going to help you recover quite a bit better. 70% of the cells that comprise our immune system are located in the gut. It is the main pathway for external matter to enter the body. This matter can be useful substances such as food and water, or damaging substances such as bacteria, viruses and toxins. Most pathogens that invade our bodies do so through the mucosal lining in our gut. So having a healthy gut is the strongest and most practical defense against disease. The regular use of colostrum keeps active antibodies in our gut which consistently combat pathogens that we ingest.
    Antler Farms® New Zealand Colostrum is derived from grass fed cows. Because pasture feeding is highly beneficial to the cow’s health, it follows that it greatly increases the quality of the colostrum they produce. Studies confirm that the nutrients in dairy products from grass fed cows are substantially greater than that of grain fed cows.
    Additionally, because our cows are exposed to the outdoors without the use of antibiotics, they build a vigorous immune system. The foundation of this immune system is in its varied antibodies, which are then passed along through its colostrum. Ideally, colostrum should be sourced from a large herd (100+) of pasture raised cows and pooled together to increase the diversity of antibodies, thereby increasing its ability to resist disease. This is exactly how Antler Farms® New Zealand Colostrum is made.

    I have an off-the-wall question. I was adopted from birth and now 53 yrs old. Last few yrs I've developed knee issues, I walk with cane, have some balance issues, getting up and down is difficult, etc. Could taking colostrum help since I wasnt breast fed as a child?
    I did warn it was odd question but I'm trying to find way to help self

    • @AntlerFarms
      @AntlerFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your current condition is a result of some immune deficiencies, taking colostrum could help. But it does not replace immunoglobulins that you would have received through breast milk. The igG in colostrum stays in your digestive tract to fight pathogens there.

    Antler farms? Do you know anything about Sovereign Labs Colostrum in the sense that theirs is some how better because of the Liposomal enhanced delivery "which makes it 1500% more Bioavailability"? Could you tell me the difference between yours and theirs?

    • @AntlerFarms
      @AntlerFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our colostrum is collected from a diverse herd of 100% grass fed NZ cattle within 24 hours of birth. SL colostrum is collected from (grain fed? US?) cattle within 72 hours of birth. The closer to birth colostrum is, the more nutrients it has (before turning into milk). Regarding the liposomal delivery, we honestly don't get it. The main purpose of colostrum is to put live antibodies into the digestive tract to combat pathogens. Studies show that colostrum's antibodies can survive through the entire digestive tract intact (they find it in feces). So there is no issue with antibodies being destroyed by stomach acids and hence no need for "liposomal delivery." We don't think there is any merit to their bioavailability claim.

    Does colostrum help with infections? I was diagnosed with Crohn’s last year and have had a major infection in my lower gut for 9 months that no one can heal. I’ve done eastern and western medicine and everything in between. I have some sort of super bug or bacteria and nothing is healing it. The pain is excruciating. A friend recently recommended this but it sounds more like an immune booster. Does it kill bacteria and viruses as well? And heal the gut?

      A lot of good bacteria is in colostrum and since ur gut is 80 percent of ur immune system when it has bacteria then the answer is yes. Cow colostrum is way stronger than humans bc cows are born more fragile than humans if a calf doesn’t get colostrum it will die in 24 hours

      Colostrum, particularly New Zealand colostrum, is expensive because of the very limited supply that is produced each year. Remember that colostrum only lasts for 72 hours and ours is all collected within 24 hours. So literally there is only one day of colostrum collection per cow per year. High demand and low supply unfortunately equals high price.
