What a good question. The harpsichord is a far less forgiving instrument as the note is plucked and not struck. This means that there is no way of controlling the volume. In addition the touch is very light and so a note will sound (loudly) as soon as it is set in motion. I love to play both instruments but definitely need to have my wits about me when playing the harpsichor or spinet!
