- ESPN FC’s Frank Leboeuf joins Dan Thomas to reminisce over his “greatest game” that he played in during his footballing career. Unsurprisingly, Leboeuf picks France’s famous 3-0 win vs. Brazil in the 1998 FIFA World Cup final at the Stade de France. He discusses the controversial buildup to the game involving Brazil’s talisman Ronaldo, who reportedly had a seizure the night before the match, and whether that had any effect on how Leboeuf and France approached such a mammoth task in front of their home fans. He also recounts the post-match celebrations that went into the next morning and describes the whole experience as “just fantastic.”

Frank is my favourite French! Top class off & on the pitch.
Spot on Frank about the Dutch team in 98. I thought they were the best team in that world cup. They had so many great players in every position and got so unlucky in the semi-final against Brazil. They are by far the best national team in the world who never won a world cup. They came close so many times but had some very painful losses in semifinals and finals in several world cups

Yeah, everyone in France was really worried about the Netherlands in 1998. A squad full of monsters : Bergkamp, Seedorf, brothers DeBoer, Davids, Kluivert, Cocu, Van Der Sar, etc...

I was lucky enough to watch Brazil playing 3 WC final back to back in 8 years. Even they were fav to play 2006 final also. From 1994 to 2006, there were only 1 man who were the wall against Brazil to win 4 consecutive WCs. Only for him Brazil was denied for two times.

Leboeuf is a clown. The Dutch were not better than Brazil. They played some nice football, especially in midfield, but they could not cope with Ronaldo in that semi.
