Most south americans only have an issue with Paraguay being there, on what basis do they deserve automatic classification? it messes up the hope for other countries as 1 spot would be taken by a country which probably wouldn't make it on their own

I 100% agree with the guys here. Either put the entire world cup in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, or don't play there at all. The 3 national sides who end up going to South America to play against Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina will definitely be at a significant disadvantage due to travel. And it's completely unfair that 3 teams get automatic qualification to a World Cup, even though they're only hosting one game. How is that fair to the other South American countries that have to qualify through the standard qualification process? I thought FIFA would improve after Sepp Blatter left, but I was sorry mistaken. FIFA is worse now than it has ever been before. If this plan comes to fruition, all logic has left the FIFA headquarters. Like Craig said, it's all about the money for FIFA...even at the expense of logic, fairness to teams, and fairness to the fans...

It's all so that Saudi Arabia can get 2034, FIFA are bundling the 2030 WC across 3 continents - South America, Africa, and Europe - and because 2026 is in North America, that leaves Asia as next in line. It's all a complete mess and a disgrace.

They get more teams (48) into the Cup as a way of securing those federation's votes. Same for multi-country hosts. It's a lot about the FIFA elections. The fruit of Democracy. How to make sure WC comes back to Asia (Saudi oil money) asap ?? Well, you already awarded next one to North America (let´s not kid ourselves there must have been money involved as well), so you need to create a way to satisfy Europe, South America and (definitely the least) Africa. How do you do that ?? Easy. Just make sure you are able to have candidates from Europe and Africa to have the same bid (well, they are close to each other enough) and then throw in a ludicrous idea to have three opening games in South America just because some ridiculous sentiment. Well, we encompassed other confederations in one attempt (to be fair nobody gives a flying **** about Oceania) and we can bring our corrupt brand to Saudi´s doorstep immediatelly. I am almost impressed. If it was not such a blatant and tangible greed of all involved. Australia (which is pretty much the ideal candidate for next WC in Asia - plus New Zealand) is pretty much screwed for 2-3 decades. I am applauding.

You got wrong Frank, it's in Europe, South America & Africa for a deliberate purpose, so the following WC cannot be (FIFA's own rules) in those continents, meaning Asia, Middle East & Oz/Pacific are the only places left to host it.
FIFA will knock Asia & Oz/Pacific out, leaving the Middle East (Saudi Arabia) a clean path to 2034.
After Qatar with their restrictions on fans singing outside the stadium, empty fan parks and apart from Argentina & Morocco games the atmopshere was flatish at best, quiet at worst. Mexican fans were singing we want a beer, so many couldn't get a drink, same fake fans dressed in a different countries colours, trying to pass off as Portuguese, English, German, was so F'ing cringe!

Why shouldn't FIFA pay homage to history and tradition.
The only problem I have is with Paraguay since they have not qualified legitimately since 2010.
The reason they didn't hold the World Cup in South America is because none of these 3 countries could afford it.
Did'nt we just have the European Championships hosted in 11 different countries?
Football has grown and how many countries now have 8 - 10 World class stadiums that can host 40,000 plus fans?
Germany, England and America with their converted American Football stadiums?
France, Spain or Italy can't without a massive investment.Lots of countries have about 4 or 5 super stadiums but not 10.
There are not many individual countries who can afford the World Cup unless they have Middle Eastern oil money.
Also if 48 countries are competing, you would have to be pretty rubbish not to qualify.
Also when North & South American players return to Europe after international duty, don't they play games 3 days later and then in the Champions League?
    Nothing new there.
We've seen these players play 3 games in 7 days or 4 games in 10 -12 days in 4 different countries.
