First time watching your videos. I am amazed at how respectful you were of well,....everything! I am so tired of car and truck Comercials showing how fast or dangerous they can go the without a care for the beautiful environment they drivers are in. Thanks for taking us along. I'll be waiting for more of your travels.
What a great episode, Will! I really like the voiceover segments. Thanks for bringing all these adventures to the world and doing it with style and amazing storytelling.
We moved to Idaho in 73 I was 13 we used to race motorcycles out in the Owyhee desert, Mtn bike ride out at Leslie gulch and Succor Creek. It’s beautiful in the desert.
I’ve got to say you’re my favorite creator in the overlanding space. Figured you should know that since I find myself not commenting or liking videos every single time I watch one. Half the time I play one instead of watching tv before bed then falling asleep like it’s Netflix. You have a knack for film making. Not sure what you did before this but you’re pretty good at this. No wonder you quit your day job. Also I appreciate that you’re not pretentious like so many of these creators are. You’ve grown into your position with the opportunities you’ve been given rather than assuming the role like so many others. Great job dude! I look forward to your videos.
Owyhees are my favorite places to explore and get away from all the noise. Your narrative or voice over is what separates you from other you tubers in my opinion, very well written in describing the landscape and heartbeat of these adventures!
This was an epic adventure. I have explored some of this area but you made me realize how much more there is. Thanks and I am looking forward to watching the next one!
My first Jeep was a brand new 78 CJ5...I covered the West in it and a couple of CJ7s...we didn't know it was overlanding then and we didn't have cell phone cameras or drones. Just some maps and a desire to explore. Love the videos--brings back good memories..
Hey guys, nice job on this adventure video. This is my first encounter with your channel. I’m a retired television producer/director/shooter and recognize good production value. Congrats on an excellent production, great cinematic shots, very nice drone work and not over used and nice use of music. The audio is also excellent. Editing was well done and I can tell someone spent a lot of time matching shots and adding audio clips. I live near your adventure area (Middleton, ID) and hope we might share an adventure some day. I suppose you had a 3rd or 4th person along in another vehicle to get all those long shots and drone shots while you were driving. Nice work! Some of the best I’ve seen on TH-cam. You had me captured to the end.
Thank you so much for compliment on the production. I'm 100% self taught..just something I really love to try and keep improving as I go...so hearing from someone with industry experience is very meaningful. Middleton is such a great jumping off point. One of these days I want to get out to Sweet and Ola..up over the mountains to McCall...which is kind of out that way. There's so much to explore out here...not enough time!
Thanks for the video, guys. I have never been on those particular Owyhee River roads, but have driver others in the area. That was a LONG time ago...I;m an old man now. Sure brings back good memories. Jerry in Yakima via La Grande, Meridian, Boise & Pocatello.
Thanks for sharing Jerry! Making memories is what it’s all about! I’m grateful to Will for capturing these particular memories for me to relive for years to come. -Chris
I bet some things have changed since you were there...but not much. It's still a MASSIVE area with very few people out there. What parts did you explore?

As a kid I take it to my motorcycle all through the areas that you're showing it is very beautiful country there's some back area where a lot of people don't even know where to get in as a as a kid me and my friends would go for days and days out what's the motorcycles and the four wheel drive pickups even the two-wheel drives explore all that Backcountry it is beautiful miss it very much
Awesome video as usual, I look forward to every one. Now, people....i could not agree more. We have a cabin in NW PA. Exactly 1 year ago this week, i got complacent. I was standing out front on our property, admiring the quiet, the beautiful fall leaves and a stranger came walking up the drive. At the same time, a second and third stranger stepped out of the trees to my right. Complacent....the sidearm i would normally be carrying was in on the kitchen counter. Call it luck or good fortune, these guys were very polite and respectful.....i wont ever tempt fate again though, lesson learned, thankfully, not the hard way.

I can see the Owyhees from my house! Really want to get out there and explore more, been out there on my dirt bike but not nearly as much in my Land Cruiser. This looks amazing. Love the water crossings. I would be just as surprised as you were when those guys were by the river. Wouldn't expect to run into people out there like that!
Another great video and adding a route, nicely done! That encounter after the river crossing must have been really bad for you to not talk about it at all. Your other human encounters you’ve been able to reflect and provide lessons. Also, you and Chris are great people so it’s hard to imagine a negative interaction unless the other party really tries.
Awe been on most of those trails. Moved up North early this year, so i enjoy seeing my old stomping grounds. Will definitely be back just to run those trails soon! Now to get ready for snow wheeling 😆 not something I'm used to being from the Owyhees!
We just did some of this run beginning of the month! Ice storms in lava fields, pouring rain, the river crossings were FUN. Really cool seeing the crossings going the opposite direction that we drove.
Great video! One of our favorite places. There is just so much to explore there, would love to just take a month and hit every side road up there. Never a bad view!
My great grandfather and grandpa had a farm they cleared out by Cairo Junction. I have much love for Vale…although I hated playing them in football my freshman and sophomore years in Ontario. 😁

And I’ve actually spent many nights in that “murder cabin”. I actually caught the Owyhee Hilton . Out on hunting trips. Remember that spring and early summer water crossings will not be doable on the Owyhee. It would suck to have people drive all the way in there and find a wall of water blocking them. Thanks for another perspective of that area! George.
Will, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being such an inspiration… Not only for making videos but also for exploring the outdoors, being a person of integrity, and having a wonderful family. For staying humble and truly enjoying what life has to offer. It’s rare to see someone not get carried away by success, but watching you remain the same genuine person from your early videos and podcasts is so refreshing. Seeing how much you’ve improved every day in your filming and editing is just spectacular! Thanks, man! I hope to keep following your journey for a long time. And who knows? Maybe one day we’ll cross paths on the trails! Even though I’m far away in Connecticut and don’t get many chances to explore the West, but if you’re ever in this area here, know that you and your family are invited to a proper Brazilian BBQ! Haha… Take care, brother! ✌️🙌
@ It’s definitely worth experiencing! But since we can’t have a barbecue here right now 😂 I looked up some steakhouses in Idaho for you. There’s one that looks really good in Idaho Falls called Tucanos Brazilian Grill… You’ll like it.. It’s a cool experience! ✌️
The van body trailer in the rock wall area back in 2014 or 2015 som buddy's and I ran this route. We called it the Corn Hole Jamboree. My dog got scared because one of the guys with us was shooting at .22 and she ran and hid under that van body. Took me 30 minutes to find the dog under it. I had to crawl under and drag her out. We ran the route in late April and the water on the river crossings of the Owyhee was headlights deep. Was a great trip.
Jeeps without computers swim better than a jk 😂 , Nice video and I always wanted to check out The Owyhee since flying over the canyon years ago . Old guy says I didn’t anything very technical as far as 4 wheeling! :-)
My first time on a slalom ski was i was 12. We were up by those cabins. Theyre only accessible by boat or the nearby airstrip. I remember as a kid seeing pontoon boats go by fully loaded with lumber.
@Venture2Roam used to camp and water ski up there every weekend during my childhood in the 80s and 90s. Don't go nearly as often as we used to after all the growth around here but owyhee res and the surrounding area is quite possibly my favorite place to go. Used to spend a lot of time exploring that area...whwn we couldn't find smooth water to ski. Lol..There's some amazing things to see up there, many of which are only accessible by boat.
Great video! I planning on heading to Oregon for PNW next June, and I’m thinking we’ll have to swing straight south from Calgary and mix in a (mini) Idaho adventure as we head to the coast.
I might hit you up for some ideas - or join your Patreon if you’re sharing routes there. Good chance I’m hauling an off grid trailer of some sort by then, so will need to keep that in mind.
@@Venture2Roam as we are preparing to start overlanding safety is something that has been on my mind… thanks for demonstrating being smart and to keep moving.
That is my biggest fear. Being from a different nationality, in the middle of the mountains with no so friendly people. I always have my gun next to me, but it is not fun to be on guard all the time. And no all states allow to cross borders with guns.
I loved this video but if you want to call it the "never seen" you need to head further south to Crutcher crossing. Past three forks. We have camped there several times. I love this place due to it's remoteness. There is also a place just south of Birch creek that you can go back into the river bed. But I can't remember the name of that one. Still great video of a place I love to explore. Thanks for sharing.
I know Crutcher. You’re thinking of Morcom ranch…also Hole in the Ground. I’m putting together a history based video on those sites. Crutcher and 3 forks were both battle sites. Very interesting stuff out there!! Thanks for watching!
Ok, Pretty Nice Work-up, as I've been there and done that, back in the Day, I was staying in Jordan Valley, just me and my Dog doing some Chukar Hunting up the Owyhee, and this was Nov. 1980, picked-up a guy hitching a ride going up-river,,,,,,, so I didn't realize until I was back at my parents House in Grants-Pass Or. and saw the News Cast about 2-Game Wardens being killed up-river, actually pretty close to where I was Hunting and where I had dropped of the hitch-hiker I had picked-up, once I saw his photo on the TV, it was the same guy, he didn't seem the type at the time, but as they say, don't judge a book by it's cover......😎
Also, how’s that FSR holding up without the cover? I don’t store my ladder inside like Chris does. I have to suck out the mattress air in order to fit my two light sleeping bags in there.

stunning trip guys..very well done..more please..thanks
More coming soon!!
Grew up in that area been to succor Creek Leslie gulch many times
As usual, great job everyone!!!!
Thank you!!
Remember that spring and early summer water crossings will not be doable on the Owyhee. It would suck to have people drive all the way in there and find a wall of water blocking them. Thanks for another perspective of that area! George.
You’re 100% correct! Great point!
Thank you so much for these kind words! Now you got me thinking about Brazilian BBQ...
@ It’s definitely worth experiencing! But since we can’t have a barbecue here right now 😂 I looked up some steakhouses in Idaho for you. There’s one that looks really good in Idaho Falls called Tucanos Brazilian Grill…
You’ll like it..
I bet it was deeper in April! Love the name lol.
I live in adrian and a lot of these trails are fun to be on
Awesome. Adrian is a great town. Part of my family grew up there.
Jeeps without computers swim better than a jk 😂 , Nice video and I always wanted to check out The Owyhee since flying over the canyon years ago . Old guy says I didn’t anything very technical as far as 4 wheeling! :-)
Ya it’s not a technical route at all really. Just a fun drive. There is super technical stuff out there, but not on this route.
My first time on a slalom ski was i was 12. We were up by those cabins. Theyre only accessible by boat or the nearby airstrip. I remember as a kid seeing pontoon boats go by fully loaded with lumber.
That’s such a great piece of info. I’ve never spent any real time on the water out there. I wondered about those cabins.
Lol..There's some amazing things to see up there, many of which are only accessible by boat.
great quality video!
Thank you!!
I need to head west to check out the Owyhees.
That’s are amazing.
Wow that was close.....glad your house didn't catch fire ! Phew..
It was a very scary day!
Loved it
Thanks Chuck!
you got me wondering what those people were up to on the other side of the river... hmm 🤔
Same here, you can’t mention it and move on without people wondering what sort of shadiness is happening 😅
@@PMcGuffin came here to see!
Nothing good. We didn’t stick around to get a lot of details…let’s just say it was not a friendly encounter.
@@Venture2Roam Yup. That's it. Love exploring all up and down the Owyhee.
I may have to check it out. 2018 Sprinter on 34’s. 😊 thanks for the video. Sub’d
Thanks for the Sub!!
I fun chore you've got going.
Lol. It’s still odd for me to think of it as work.
This county has been my home for 32 years. We grow more than potatoes here. lol That nest could be a Red Tailed Hawk nest.
Poison creek road into Succer creek park.
I've drive that route many times. You'll see it in the latest winter vid. One of my favorite parts of the Owyhees.
That's a huge nest, I didn't know Red Tails made them that big. I got a new lens, so next time I can try to zoom in better and see more detail.
Used to camp in the Jarbridge mts.
I love Jarbidge! Made a few vids on going there. That whole area is a ton of fun.
I'd like to go.overlanding with you guys, I'm getting close to being done enough with my rig.
I don't think you guys need to find an easier challenge! I think it is good to have challenges along this route.
It’s nice to have some alternate lines for sure!
Fair enough. The hard way it is!!
Nice Glock😉
Where did you see it?
@ in between the seat and the center console in the last video lol
@@Venture2Roam besides jeeps, that’s my other hobby
Can you please make a video about Montana BML land. Would love to see that.
Yes, at some point. That’s Griz territory, so I haven’t been too eager to bring the fam out there. But it’s too beautiful to ignore.
Great video! I'm looking forward to seeing this route. Where can we find your routes, and when do you expect to share this one?
This route is part of a larger project that will likely be published in Fall of 2025.
Whhhaaaaattt???? That’s an insane story. Insane. You gave Claude Dallas a ride?????
Yep, I sure did...... 😎
@@Big-Dawwg That’s nuts. Wow. What a story.
@@Big-Dawwg😮😮😮
Also, how’s that FSR holding up without the cover? I don’t store my ladder inside like Chris does. I have to suck out the mattress air in order to fit my two light sleeping bags in there.
FSRIs holding up great! I usually run with the cover between runs, then take it off the night before we head out. Love that tent!
Hi could you please let me know the brand of your rear drawer/boxes shown at 10:18 as your making coffee?? Really enjoy your content thx!
