  • Bathroom renovation starts today, 1 of 2 bathrooms that i will be doing back to back at this house.
We get it all stripped out and uncover a soil stack that becomes a little tricky to sort out.

Another great video Mark. Don't worry about the time you seem to be taking as at the end of the day you have done loads. Every bend of pipe takes time and planning. it results in a fantastic job that's well thought out.

You’re spot on with it taking time cos when 1 does it proper, takes long time to plan & figure out way to do it…sometimes customers don’t appreciate how long it takes to just do 1st fix stuff…”it’s all in the preparation”!!

Had very same issue on soilpipe on recent job but it was all in the bloody eaves, Haha, my back gave out after crouching in there all day. Am getting one of those cutters, thanks for that tip. It's great when you solve a problem like that, makes your day. Great vid as ever Mark.

I've lost count of how many times I've cut the side of toilet pans out 🤣 sometimes there's just not enough room for back to wall pans housed in a boxing. Great work pal!!!

This is very helpful stuff. I am a rank amateur DIYer and have been looking for some info about working with soil stack fittings, as I'll need to do so when replacing my bathroom. This is the most useful practical explanation that I've come across. It helps that you're solving a real life problem too, and showing how you work in a confined space. You're braver than I am to cut the soil pipe off so low though.

Cable saws are awesome for cutting the soil and fast. Worth a try 👍
