Leo I finally did it! I've been making incremental improvements over a long period of time in various points in my life and one of my intentions lately has been to listen to your insights intently, while taking notes. The next step for me is considering my nets and reflecting on them. I experienced backlash while I was doing it. I started getting tired, so I took a 5 minute break, then came back. Then when I got back, I got even more tired and thought that I could come back later and I started to make excuses, but I recognized this to be my homeostasis kicking in and I continued, until I got to the end of your video, pausing every minute to take in what you were saying. I ended up with 4 pages of notes, and I am now a littler more capable of recalling what you said at the beginning, middle, and end. And also, I started to draw connections about what you were drawing together: homeostasis, why it happens, and by the end of the video, I could understand better, why those were the solutions George and yourself suggested. At the end, I exclaimed yes, and celebrated a little, that I was able to do that. So I appreciate your guidance over the past while. I take your words and I put them to practice, little by little, everyday

Expect resistance / homeostasis to impact you somewhat, know when to ease off more and press on more. Negotiate with wise more restful periods when needed instead of pushing through everything 110%, but don't fully stop so you're brain can see its all good. This way the mechanism doesn't slam on the emergency breaks, but eases off them gently. + Be with communities doing the same things online or offline to keep your mindset in the same place as them and get helpful info along the way. Put an end to negative / unhelpful information intake wherever possible, and take in more supportive information. + Meditate daily and your awareness will grow so you have more opportunity to act wisely over this mechanism. + Visualise daily and you'll be more likely to do what you're visualising with your brain deeply buying in. (Brain circuits wire in more as if you were doing what you're imagining, making them more active IRL) + Set intentions each morning strategically. Put first things first, unless you're more likely to act on them at a different time. + Change only 1, possibly 2 things max at a time so you don't scatter your efforts and get overwhelmed. This is how to be the most effective. Choose what will have the most overall positive impact first, integrate it into your system, then move to the next important.
Hi Leo... If I follow your advice, you are quite literally going to save my life... First, last night I watched your video about addiction and the 'art' of doing nothing in order to allow the 'Purifying Fire of Emptiness' burn out my inner demons.... I promised myself 'from tomorrow', then when tomorrow arrived I failed in my addiction as I have every day for too long to mention. So I scrolled through your videos and found THIS one, again filled with SOLID, REAL. SOUND Advice and reasoning. So, starting from a genuine 'tomorrow' (as today is nearly over) I fully intend to implement the advice you have given us in your videos that I have watched relating to my own personal needs. Homeostasis is very real, and I must break away from it in order to succeed. No more avoiding the emotional labour that gets in the way of SO many good intentions. Your videos are A TRUE gift to humanity... Where your insights come from... You are tuned in to a more fulfilling life in such an amazing way, and pass on your knowledge in an honest, no bullshit, pragmatic manner. As I said at the beginning of this comment, if I can follow what you have shared with the 100% effort you so very correctly request in order to be successful, you will LITERALLY save my life. I happen to be genuinely at the very end of my rope (pun unfortunately intended), and today I am not telling myself "I hope" I can fulfil my intentions tomorrow, as hope requires no effort whatsoever. However, I DO sincerely hope you find and read my comment (doubtful with the number of subscribers and views you have), and know in your heart that you are not only helping people, but SAVING LIVES! I'm not a religious person, but the only words I can think to say to you is BLESS YOU for your channel, and the free work you put into it in order to offer guidance to your fellow human beings... Thank you so much for these videos! I cannot express how much gratitude I have for you. I value your perspective, and your videos have helped me change myself for the better. Keep making videos Leo!
Leo, you truly are a hero in many ways! I found your videos by searching Intuition, which I was doing because of my intuition! I now watch 1 video a day. in doing so I have helped others around me, which is one of my passions, but have also helped myself a great deal! Every time I'm asked for advice, I send them to your channel. Thank you for everything you do! Mark Campbell
Something I really don't understand is the people disliking your videos, I mean I would give you double thumbs up if that exists. Every single video I watch contains so much useful and life changing informations. Thanks a lot Leo !
Wow. I watched this video a year ago and found it very helpful. Now, one year later, I've been increasing my awareness and, shit, this is an even more powerful video that will change my life once again. It's amazing how a different perspective can completely transform the way you comprehend content. I'll keep coming back to your older videos, Leo. Thanks for your efforts.
Leo, thank you. This one video has had the greatest impact on my life so far. I saw this video at the start of July last month roughly and I implemented this little tweak in my life. My one thing was meditation and I've been able to meditate pretty much consistently since then and this is my 2nd week going to the gym (haven't missed a day). I also have a mastery sort of mind set now. I don't rush. I just do what I'm supposed to do when I'm supposed to do it. What works for me is implementing a new behavior once a month. So thank you and this advice really sticks. It's more about gradual progress than about getting motivated and radically changing your life.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Before watching this I was feeling like I didn't have any goals. I feel like I am suffering from contentment! However, There is so much that could get done. I now realise I have Homeostasis! I hear you saying about you getting things like a six figure salary etc,. I think, "yeah that sounds good, but can I be bothered?" The trouble is I feel like I have tried and failed so many times, I'm just happy with what I got. Many of the things I have strived for I have tried and found out they aren't really me after all. I don't get the joy, fulfilment, sense of having found my thing from them. It's not worth flogging a dead horse. I am a dreamer, I can imagine myself doing almost anything, but that doesn't mean I'd actually enjoy doing them! If you asked me what my goal is, I'd say I would love to have a goal! But maybe my goal is to do as little as possible. When people near death many come to the point when they feel they have had enough and are ready to go. I reached that point very early on. I feel like I am just existing with occasional moments of joy. What if you cannot have what you want? What if you've been to the moon and found nothing tops it and you can't now go back?
Richard Hawkins boy learn to be happy in your current presence. It's like you aren't really fulfilled but doubt that anything which might fulfill you is worth the effort and chance of doing it. But that's a shady excuse of your mind. You are the creator of your life, yes it might be true that you can't be a billionaire or the president of whatever. In the end, you want this superficial stuff because it gives you certain emotions. So ask why do I want this? What is the core of why I think that will make me happy?
Hey Leo first off great video. My life is in shambles in just about every area except this homeostasis zone I keep retreating to. I have no social life. I have no support system. I was a fatherless child. I'm 23. No degree. 3 years of gen eds at a university and got stuck not knowing what to do as a major. No job. Live at home. That's a little bit about me. I'm in a quarter life crisis or rut. I feel so buried in this hole I don't know how to get out. I have no money and financial aid won't cover the school bills. I want to get back to school for nutrition. But it frightens me because of the cost. And its change. I need a job. But every time I get one I quit because I feel like it doesn't fit me. I turned to personal development because I feel like there's something better on the other side I got all this information In my head from a wide variety of sources books videos but it seems useless. You mentioned in your video don't make to many commitments. Well please give me some advice. Should I start with school or work first? Being that I don't have money I lean towards work. I don't feel depressed because I meditate and exercise somewhat and have a lot of sidestepping distractions. I feel so clouded sorry for the long post Leo please give me a reply. Even if short and I can't afford to pay anything so even if Its a small response it would mean something thanks for reading.
EveryThingTech -Nick Ackerman It seems like you're very anxious and have too much going on in your mind. I would definitely suggest meditation but you're already doing that so keep at it. Combine that with mindfulness or maybe read 'The Power of Now' so that you can STOP THINKING (so much!). When your mind is clear it's much easier to see what you need to do and be able to take action. Something you can try is to meditate and get to a blank state and then ask yourself a question such as 'what should I do about my schooling?'. Let the thoughts arise naturally and slowly. Stay totally aware of the train of thoughts and memorise it as you go so that you can recall it when you have finished. This takes practice like all techniques but gives amazing insight. You already know what you want to do but the mind won't allow you to see it clearly. Constantly worrying all the time will grind you down but once you have clarified what you want, make the effort to view the future unfolding in a positive manner - maybe look at Leo's video on visualisation (somewhere I need to go too!). Someone said to me recently that worrying is like praying for bad things to happen - so don't do it!
Thanks for your response first off its greatly appreciated. Ironically I have read the power of the now already and while it has helped becoming enlightened is not the easiest thing to do it takes practice. I will take into account the things you have said thanks once again! Good luck with your visualization.
Thanks for your comment I want my life to have meaning I want my job to make me feel like I serve purpose that aligns with me I want to go to school because I like to learn but I haven't been back because I got stuck a couple years ago trying to decide on a major. since then I have been just hopping jobs and every time I try to figure out want I want to major in I get clouded. And that is the meat and potatoes. I feel confused, maybe its fear I am not sure. Let me put it this way Mario, if you said, "Hey bro what would you see yourself doing in the future? school? work?," I wouldn't be able to answer you that. That's where I am at. And I appreciate any and all replies however.
Dude why not... get a job, and perhaps you find (likely) once again that 'it doesnt fit your purpose or potential' however... MAKE IT SERVE YOUR HIGHER PURPOSE, use the money for it and all the free time it allows you to keep improving yourself and investing in yourself, your health, what you eat, create a daily routine/ritual, begin creating things, and working on projects that are of your purpose and that do fit you and keep working! Dont stop, but be realistic, its going to take time and work but you can create the life you want, you might have to sacrifice maybe 3 years of your life to it, but if you have a desire and you work for it that much theres no way you dont kill it dude, its not going to be easy, and it is going to take a lot of change, and you have to not expect things to have to go particular ways but accept and deal with them as they come and just dont stop dealing and negotiating and working and creating and becoming until what you be has so much momentum and before you know it youre where you never could have imagined...
Nick idk if thats what would be the right solution for you personally but if you would like someone to talk to, to ask for advice, for encouragement, for support and inspiration id like to personally make myself available to you, maybe we can messenger, maybe we can support eachother, if youre interested send me a private message with an email or fb of yours we can start a dialogue through
hey i love your videos. i been meditating everyday since Friday and its going great. I'm willing to do this everyday forever. i think you are great and keep up the great work, thank you so much. this is something i needed so bad in my life, self improvement.
I have watched mostly every single video in this channel , and I can easily say .. this video is that most practical video in this channel ! Just amazing !
Awesome video! Thank you, Leo. I have backslid after only a few days of making a change. I didn't give change enough cumulative value over time so it was easy to fall back into homeostasis. I feel encouraged to be satisfied with being consistent with just one change.
Leo is a great avatar. He isn't saying anything new, but that's not his fault because there is nothing new to say. Like any great avatar he speaks timeless wisdom in a way that is palatable to the culture he lives in. It's really nice to find spiritual teacher that comes from my own generation because all of my favorites (Alan Watts, J. Krishnamurti, Terence McKenna, Ram Dass, etc.) come from older generations.
yeah its an easy trap when your beggining. "im going to change every single habit and map out every minute of my day with new productive activites!!!" *two days later homeostatis comes in like a freight train* do one thing at a time, start with meditation. thats the real long term path.
Wow, this hits home. I've made some good changes in my life, but I keep pending toward my comfort zone. Eventually I end up somewhere between my comfort zone and what I wanted to achieve, but hey. It's very eye-opening to watch this video and keep up the discipline.
Life changing video as always! Just made a routine of watching one video a week and actually executing the tasks in it...(I got so hyped and almost watched all of your videos in 3 weeks.) You've really motivated and inspired me to become the best version I can be. Thank you!!
I like how you reinforced how it not just will power that will take you through your big change, but also emotional labour and laying the groundwork for habits to form. Automation through habit is pivotal when your will becomes spent.
I'm 20 years old and I can't explain how much of an advantage at life I feel like I have because of Leo (ironically my Dads name). I've watched only around a dozen or so videos but all valuable knowledge I wish everyone possessed. You need more viewers the world would be a better place, or at least there needs to be more informed people about their own psychology that too many are oblivious to. Any who, thanks for the advice. Contemplating on getting Actualized logo for my first tattoo on my bday.
One or more books can promote your business. Wayne Dyer wrote several books before passing away at 75 in 2015. He also did interviews. One or more published books will let more people know about your business. A book is a lot like a brochure. It's a promotion of yourself.
Been a minute since I've watched your videos, i miss them and I've strayed a bit from my meditation practices. had a convo with a friend about this and we we're both on the same wavelength and it made me think of your videos. i was riding that roller coaster, going up, going down, and I was like I'm off this bitch, time to reestablish my balance, I have new plans that require me to gather my strengths and tap into my true power and get back with the universe. i love your videos, you explain things that I feel. when i came across your first video i was like damn, this guy is saying everything i've been thinking, i'm ready to come back and will def be watching more videos, thank you for being you brotha
One of the greatest improvements I've ever seen was in my sister. She had zero self-esteem and was horribly bullied in school. One area she was working on was getting her driver's license. I kept telling her "if you just do this one thing, if you get your driver's license it'll push you to do other things". And she did it. Now she drives, works a job she loves, has a great boyfriend and is continuing her education while making fantastic grades. All it takes is that one change and it makes a world of difference. Just start somewhere and other things seem to fall in place.
Loved this video. First time I came across your channel I was like "meh this is ok but nothing too impressive " The more videos I watched the more it became clear that they are enter twined and connected and when I listened more carefully I started to notice the words you were using to describe the concepts you are talking about. It really becomes clear that these are things that you have deeply thought about not just another conveyer style ehow video. I am going to keep watching you. Great job and I hope you do a video on values soon.
Saw the whole video front to end. First of all, very valuable so thank you. Second, you didn't say how long you should implement one change for, but I assume it's until you have it locked down and that varies on each person. But anyway, thank you again for this video, truly worth a lot of value and you give it out for free.
your an amazing leo.. i got so much respect for you can clearly see the huge effort you put to change your life, it's so true what you said though i tried to meditate i only lasted like 1 week.. then procrastination started kicking in...but this encouraged me to keep going.. keep putting in an effort
You sir are a freaking super hero.. definitely fulfilling destiny. The knowledge and understanding flowing from this video is astounding. Concepts i have never heard before, Thank you for becoming yourself
+Stefan Green many of these things that you talk about I experience in my life especially the negotiations. I call them evaluations. I start outside and go inwards, usually. Evaluating things physically then mentally and then the deepest parts. It is indeed hard sometimes because you feel when the mind has trouble letting go or changing. I find myself having to convince myself of what is better. Convincing myself that the grass is greener on the other side to initiate change.
Thank you, Leo. That talk about cybernetics was so good that I was encouraged to look at one of my projects a little differently and now I have some new interesting ideas to try out. XD
I stretch(medidate) while listening to your video's that is my new habit. the Next habit I wanna acquire is getting up at 8 in the morning(easy mode). If I get used to it. I'll start going to the library as well. Although as you have accounted in your vid, my tendency's are having to much goals at once
wow Leo, this one really stuck with me. great video. I know that I'm trying to change the right things in my life but I never thought about homeostasis like that. I know all great things happen out of your comfort zone. great message on emotional labor and meditation.
I discovered your channel a little over a month ago and have watched nearly every video. Your content is amazing and I'm thankful for the epiphanies you've given me about life. Thank you! I've had MASSIVE success with weight loss. I dropped 80 lbs last year, going from 280 to 200. I have about 25-35 more pounds to goal to optimize my life and be at my goal weight. I go to the gym 5-6 days per week for 1-2 hours per day. Lift heavy weights and do cardio. But my diet is poor and it's leaving me at this plateau. I'm not pushing myself to be the best I can be. I make plans to eat clean, may do it for a couple days or even a week, but then I'm back to eating unhealthy and I've been stuck at my current weight for several months now. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback.
I ended up on your channel today-- looking for new ideas for conquering my struggles with anxiety. I really like your videos, and wish that I had known about them far sooner!
Funny I was like oh i don't need to watch this, I don't procrastinate... though ohwell its not too long i might get something out of it.. one of the most useful videos I've watched :) shot leo!
Srikumar Rao says when we try to use willpower to change, we are doing violence to ourselves... It was illuminateing to see Leo describe more of how that can look in our lives. Then Dr. Rao says to change, we must examine out mental models of the world.
This is so cool! For me this big change was veganism! I went vegan for the ecological and ethical reasons and now I eat healthy (before veganism I never ate any vegetables for 21 years!) I drink a lot of water exercise and also shop from slow fashion only. And all that stuff makes me so genuinely happy!

I really appreciate this video, its so relevant to where I was at mentally. Awesome reminder to keep pushing forward.
I love you Leo, without you I would have been lost.
What is the core of why I think that will make me happy?
i found a little life hack, do a visualization about doing visualizations every day. :D

That might be genius

Nick idk if thats what would be the right solution for you personally but if you would like someone to talk to, to ask for advice, for encouragement, for support and inspiration id like to personally make myself available to you, maybe we can messenger, maybe we can support eachother, if youre interested send me a private message with an email or fb of yours we can start a dialogue through
Thank you so much for your videos. I have had great results after one week. This means alot.I listen daily while at work.
It is the fact that you have shared. Thank you so much. Greatful to you for this..
lets get shit started! one thing at a time. I feel equipped with the proper knowledge to move things forward now. Thanks Leo!
hey i love your videos. i been meditating everyday since Friday and its going great. I'm willing to do this everyday forever. i think you are great and keep up the great work, thank you so much. this is something i needed so bad in my life, self improvement.
I have watched mostly every single video in this channel , and I can easily say .. this video is that most practical video in this channel ! Just amazing !
These videos are foundational. I’ve been turning to these older videos for years.
Great ideas here Leo. Thank you very much for sharing. Your channel has assisted me during this time of change and introspection of my life
Now I know why, all makes perfect sense. Thank you for this video.
This video appeared at the exact right time. Something I'll be watching again and again to push the idea. Thanks Leo
Change 1 or 2 things at a time? Damnit Leo I've been changing dozens at a time... so that's why it was so hard.
Omg I just realized the same
yeah its an easy trap when your beggining. "im going to change every single habit and map out every minute of my day with new productive activites!!!" *two days later homeostatis comes in like a freight train* do one thing at a time, start with meditation. thats the real long term path.
Fuck the police
@lucabaki Damn always feels weird reading my comments from a decade ago lol
Wow, this hits home. I've made some good changes in my life, but I keep pending toward my comfort zone. Eventually I end up somewhere between my comfort zone and what I wanted to achieve, but hey. It's very eye-opening to watch this video and keep up the discipline.
I notice a lot if this in my path of becoming a Trader. It's a trip how much I can relate to what he says.
Good one! Without this all of the other self-help is useless. This is the KEY
Life changing video as always! Just made a routine of watching one video a week and actually executing the tasks in it...(I got so hyped and almost watched all of your videos in 3 weeks.) You've really motivated and inspired me to become the best version I can be. Thank you!!
Mystical in a new age way, thank God for TH-cam.🙏
Thank you so much Leo. Once again you explained something, as clear as I think it's possible to do.
Man, im subscribed to your channel since u had 2000 subscribers and im so happy to see that u progressed to over 150 000 :) just keep going!
Luka Sikic Thanks for your early support :)
Yup same here!
150 000 ? XD The snowball is real, as he also advices!
Zio Alboz I've been subscribed to him since I was 13 I'm 17 now keep it going Leo
I subscribed when I was 1 year old, I'm 20.. Keep it real Leo ✌
I like how you reinforced how it not just will power that will take you through your big change, but also emotional labour and laying the groundwork for habits to form. Automation through habit is pivotal when your will becomes spent.
The book The war of art also teches us how to deal with homeostasis, Pressfield call it resistance
and I love this book
I believe you meant: "The Art Of War" ?
@@idan7989 The War of art by Steven Pressfield, great book
@@willianmoreira2154 oh ok👍👍
Thise are some very actual subjects, I've been thinking about also earlier, but now this talk really makes it for me. Thank you for it.
This is probably the most important video of my life. Thanks!
Hey Leo,thanks so much for all your videos. They help me so much to apply some changes into my life. This one was one of your best . Thank you
I'm 20 years old and I can't explain how much of an advantage at life I feel like I have because of Leo (ironically my Dads name).

Thank you Leo, a lot, I'm having a hard time and your vidéos are helping me a lot. Good luck and keep the great work
Zakaria Ber - Jesus is coming back soon. Are you still having problems with backsliding?
Leo you ever thought about writing a book of your own,i would buy one?
Thomas Evolve I have, but I prefer shooting more videos instead.
***** I am creating in-depth video courses. First one should be out within a month.
One or more books can promote your business. Wayne Dyer wrote several books before passing away at 75 in 2015. He also did interviews. One or more published books will let more people know about your business. A book is a lot like a brochure. It's a promotion of yourself.
He's making one about epistemology, probably gonna takes ages to release though
Yes, we should really give that 100% commitment to the things that we want! They deserve 100% commitment!
Excellent support Leo, thank you ;)
Charismatic, as usually. Thanks, Leo
Saw the whole video front to end. First of all, very valuable so thank you. Second, you didn't say how long you should implement one change for, but I assume it's until you have it locked down and that varies on each person. But anyway, thank you again for this video, truly worth a lot of value and you give it out for free.
This has been my exact problem for the past two years while i am suffering from severe depression
I've learnt so much from you, I sooo needed to hear this!! Thank-you so much Leo.
your an amazing leo.. i got so much respect for you can clearly see the huge effort you put to change your life, it's so true what you said though i tried to meditate i only lasted like 1 week.. then procrastination started kicking in...but this encouraged me to keep going.. keep putting in an effort
Glad I found you! Specially this video! It's opened my eyes to the mechanics of why we fall back and what to do about it! 😀
Perfect timing Leo!
These videos are giving me life
You sir are a freaking super hero.. definitely fulfilling destiny.
Thanks for the video Leo. I am definitely backsliding a lot in my life the last few months..
Eye opening and powerful video. Can't wait to start using these techniques!!!
Thank you, Leo. That talk about cybernetics was so good that I was encouraged to look at one of my projects a little differently and now I have some new interesting ideas to try out. XD
great that you are one step ahead of being your highest self! thanks for helping us to try at least
Awesome, Leo! Exactly what I needed to hear this morning :)
I stretch(medidate) while listening to your video's that is my new habit. the Next habit I wanna acquire is getting up at 8 in the morning(easy mode). If I get used to it. I'll start going to the library as well. Although as you have accounted in your vid, my tendency's are having to much goals at once
That's happened to me all the time and now I finally understand why. I hope I can do better from now on.
You are truly unbelievable Leo! I love your work :)
You give great information period. One of the best TH-cam channels.
wow Leo, this one really stuck with me. great video. I know that I'm trying to change the right things in my life but I never thought about homeostasis like that. I know all great things happen out of your comfort zone. great message on emotional labor and meditation.
Thank you for the video, it's really helpful
Leo, I'm excited about the life purpose course coming!!
LOVE the "REAL TALK" cursing & all. Very REFRESHING! ;)
In the long run doing the hard stuff turns out to be the easier softer way! Its the slacking off that ends up being so hard!
Cut all the following from your diet: wheat, rice, potatoes, sugar.
That fat will melt away!
Perfect timing, thank you.
I ended up on your channel today-- looking for new ideas for conquering my struggles with anxiety. I really like your videos, and wish that I had known about them far sooner!
Rewatching. Thank you!
Then Dr. Rao says to change, we must examine out mental models of the world.
oh, that is great video Leo, I am really impressed, thank you :)
Thank You, Leo! Right on time. :D
Thank you this video is about me I needed this desperately.
Watching now. Thanks again, man.
This video brought up many ideias that I need to re-think
