So the Nihil control the Outer Rim and have cut off the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. I wonder if they’ll debate over whether it’s worth continuing going to war with the Nihil since they only want the Outer Rim. Maybe this is when we see the rise of the megacorporations as they both push the Republic to continue the war against the Nihil while also providing the droid-power and resources to wage direct war against the raiders.

I"m very much looking forward to Phase Two. I have a feeling that it will be even better than the first one. I still theorize that the spirit and influence of Darth Nihilus is at work here, through Dark Side and/or Sith alchemy.
@Cameron Field No. Because the "craft" Marchion Ro and his family/people practice, has its similarities to the kind of Dark Side power that Darth Nihilus exuded upon the galaxy and The Force Itself (The Nameless, make no mistake, are absolute abominations of The Force). It also can't be accidental that this 40-year-old tribal collection of marauders (and their galactic retreat) happen to bear the same name as one of the greatest threats in the entire galaxy's history. That's too delicious, not to see the connections and implications therein.
@@AlphaWasSpotted When you think about it: In a way, The Nameless have powers that bear kinship to Nihlus' devastating, essence-draining force. I like to think that Star Wars repeats a trilogy pattern: one adult novel per wave times three; one movie trilogy, a second wave that takes place several years before as with the prelogy. SPOILERS FOR PEARL... HEAR me out... Pearl, the prequel to X, as a Star Wars movie, parallels perfectly to the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker. Early on, Pearl is destined for greatness, but she's held back by the grownups, she has illusions of grandeur, she loses her father, in a way, to illness as he becomes a vegetable, experiences failure at the tryout and unleashes fury. She kills her mentor father / friend (obi wan), kills her dominating Mother (Mace and the the council) and kills her boyfriend (Padme) someone she cares about but only in a way that she can control him and what happens to him. (she freaks out when he seems like he's leaving her / scared of her)
It was announced recently that, for the first time ever, there's going to be a live action TV show that focuses not on the Clone Wars or the Empire. It'll focus on the Jedi about 100 years before the Phantom Menace takes place. We may very well get our first live depiction of Darth Plaguis or Darth Tenebrae since Sidious wouldn't of even been born yet. It'll be called the Acolyte and it'll air sometime in 2024.
So the next phase is a prequel to their prequel? Phase one was already pretty difficult to keep track of, I liked the mainline novels but when they started actively referencing materials I had not read, I dipped out. I think this is a fine experiment in story telling but I have to admit I think I'm passed the point of really caring.
Phase 1 was okay IMO. The Jedi were portrayed really well, the space Vikings they fought were rather meh. The other big issue is they made the galaxy feel so small. With most of the main adult books only taking place in 1-2 unique locations per book it was sometimes a slog to get through. Even a good author would have a hard time writing a whole book about a bad day at a fair feel exciting. Here is hoping Phase 2 ups the adrenaline and intrigue because it it's going to be more like Phase 1 then this is a boring part of the Galaxy's history.
