I don’t wanna go through this 40 minute video to find the exact scene you were describing, but dream once stated the he edits in older reactions when the newer ones are confusing or boring, they record a lot of failed attempts off camera so they experience some strategies for the first time in a failed recording.

Yeah, that's the thing with Dream's Manhunts. Most of the time, it doesn't even really matter if they're staged or not, because the insane plays that he pulls off require such accurate timing and skill that they're super impressive anyway.
I think with the water one it's not staged, maybe the hunters were planning to place water down so Sapnap could jump and Dream will be forced to jump, and since the hunters have full diamond, they would still have an advantage

somehow, as a player that stopped playing minecraft (I do still build, just not play in survival) since 1.7, I know more mechanics than some of the minecraftubers

Credit to these reactors for noticing George's ender pearls on the ledge and figuring out that's what Dream was going for. I initially thought he was going to try and Spiderman himself to the ledge with the fishing rod; not seeing the pearls I was thinking "well, previously I discovered the fishing rod could do more than I thought in a 5v1 Manhunt when he stole Sapnap's axe, maybe I'll discover it can do even more this time."

@@snowball1459 I watched the analysis video, at least two of the hunters had left at that point to fill up their water buckets, while Sam went to dig a 2x2 hole to make an infinite water source. They were still nearby, but not so close that Dream couldn’t have run.
@@superqaxclub It wasn’t “staged” as in “all six of them planned it out ahead of time” or even “Dream had an agreement that they had to give him some chance in situations like that”. HOWEVER, I do agree that Sapnap may have made a personal decision, having already done several “failed attempts” (hunts in which Dream died early enough that the video would have been too short to post), to throw the bucket knowing that there was a possibility Dream would catch it and escape, making this hunt long enough they could make a video out of it and not have to start over again. It’s still a very tricky move for Dream to pull off, Sapnap didn’t make it easy for him whether he was thinking about giving him a chance or not. But unless someone can read Sapnap’s mind or he decides to tell someone, we’ll never know for sure.

How is it that the dream has so many strategies? I can barely make a house with a trap (it also goes wrong for me)
Lots of practice, they do attempts for weeks, if not months, at a time, so Dream has a ton of opportunities to come up with and practice insane clutches and strategies
He said in the past he takes a lot of inspo from like, Reddit or tiktok. But also, they work weeks on a manhunt, there's a lot of failed ones we dont get to see because Dream died too early y'know ?

what do they mean?
Dream revealed in his analysis video for the final manhunt that for a lot of the manhunts he would edit in his reactions from previous manhunts. So for example, the “WHAAAT” and whatever else he was saying to them getting so many diamonds early on, he edited the audio in. He said it was to keep the audience entertained when while editing he didn’t think his reaction was big enough while filming.
