This is such a high quality video that requires some more recognition.

I recall watching video essays about how the first Wonder Woman reintroduced her armour to us after it being unidentifiable in Batman vs Superman or how Spider-Man: Homecoming actually used the standard colour palette to its advantage and would deeply love to know where I can find those vids again, but a more important question: how do you believe Wicked stands out in comparison to the rest of Jon M. Chu's oeuvre? I remember thinking In The Heights was vivid but having no real reference to Crazy Rich Asians.

If I'm honest I've not seen any of his films, might have to have a deep dive into his work before Wicked Part 2

See when Scorsese called it "fast food" instead of cinema, that's clearly pointed here. You said it yourself ; it's not treated as art but as a product. As fast food it's meant to feel the same all across the board so no matter what you pick it has that brand taste - no unique identity. And don't get me wrong, I'm not hating here, it doesn't have to be like that (and shouldn't). It's a shame really, because even though it's not my cup of tea, I think people who are into these franchises deserve way better from those multi million dollars productions, many only watch these franchise, for better or worse, and it's almost as if it was made to make anything else feel weird. Idk, it's sad.

TBH I don't care how grey movies look, but with everything pushed to extreme teal & orange. EVERYTHING IN THE LAST DECADE and more looks completely unrealistic. All cars end up dark teal, all clothing is either vomitous peach colour, or teal. And the worst thing: classic movies that looked gorgeous, are now all being recoloured and the originals are no longer shown. If you've got them on digital media in their original presentation HOLD ON TO THEM!!! Future movie lovers will look back on this era with disdain and scorn.

absolutely even though the Buffy DVD still has S4 onwards in widescreen which causes some issues, the colour correction is as initially intended, I don’t even think overall it has to be a bad thing, this year Alien used colour quite sparingly amongst a lot of dark greys but the colours came through when they were used as well as the overall palette working with the tone, but then we have Deadpool 3, a film with comic characters in bright yellow suits lacks that the actual saturation that the colour should have, so it’s even more noticeable

What do you think of the Superman 2025 trailer?

Adore the tone, I think the effects look great, biggest concern being my hope it does remain Superman centric with everything going on, and whilst I see the criticism of people thinking it looks like CW with a budget, I think it's a very comic colour palette they're using and if nothing else to me it looks at least more interesting than some other recent big budget films.
