    I am lazy and have used organic carrot shreds to start and oat flour. Our dog has dark fur and the coconut oil is great to keep her shiny and healthy. I just cut small squares instead of shapes. After reading the terrible things in many commercial dog foods I am happy to make these (and peanut butter ones). If I can’t eat it, she shouldn’t. Thanks for this easy recipe.

    Thanks for this easy dog biscuit it's brilliant and they are so easy to make. It's good to know what we are feeding our fur babies.

    Looks so yummy! Can I use quick 1 minute oats (Quaker Oats) instead of the old fashion oats?

    • @judichristopher4604
      @judichristopher4604 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would NOT... the process they use to make it a "Quick 1 minute" Oats takes away from the nutrition the original has already...

      Hello, thanks for watching! They should last at least 2 weeks in the fridge, or at least 3 months in the freezer (if your dog doesn't eat them all before then). Hope this helps! :)

    Great recipe, how long can they stay on the shelf? If I bake them nice and crispy but not burnt. And I take the moisture out how long can they last on the shelf?

    • @claudeyaz
      @claudeyaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my opinion...no longer than a month or two...if you own a vacuum sealer...likely would last longer

    • @TheMicheNiche
      @TheMicheNiche  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello, thank you for watching my video! Peanut butter would work great! Just make sure your peanut butter doesn't have Xylitol as an ingredient (it's not safe for dogs). Whenever I use peanut butter in my dog biscuits, I find brands that only use peanuts and oil as the ingredients (preferably with no salt added). Hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions. :)

    • @TheMicheNiche
      @TheMicheNiche  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello, thank you for watching! I'm so glad you tried my recipe! The biscuits should be golden on the top, and slightly soft in the center. If you prefer a crispier biscuit you can roll the dough thinner and baker it for longer. (I keep mine on the softer side because my dog doesn't always chew her food. If your dogs chew their food, then crispier biscuits shouldn't be a problem.) Thank you for your question, I hope it helps!

    Hey just wondering would sunflower oil work instead of coconut??

    • @TheMicheNiche
      @TheMicheNiche  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thank you for watching my video! I am unfamiliar with sunflower oil, but if it is okay for dogs to eat, it should work just fine. (The coconut oil is used mainly for flavoring since the moisture from the carrots binds the dough enough to form the biscuit.) I hope this helps!

      The Miche Niche Can I add water instead of oil??

    • @TheMicheNiche
      @TheMicheNiche  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@meganburns2025 Water should work as well. I would start with adding less water (as you can always add more). As long as the dough looks about the same texture, it should bake just fine. Let me know how your batch turns out and thanks again for watching! :)

    Can i substitute flour to oatmeal?

    • @TheMicheNiche
      @TheMicheNiche  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for watching my video! From what I understand, flour is not the best for dogs which is why I use oatmeal in my recipe (it's good for their digestion). However, I am not an expert in dog nutrition, so I would check with your vet or browse the internet for clearer answers.
      As far as the recipe goes, if you do decide to use flour, I would recommend 2 things:
      1) Use a whole grain flour - the less processed the better.
      2) Start by adding half the amount of flour and then sprinkle more as needed until the dough reaches a soft consistency.
      I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions! :)

      You can use quacker oats.. But avoid treats until 3 months at least. 1.5month puppy is a weaning baby. Wont be able to digest it.

    Great video! Can I add an egg too? THANKS

    • @TheMicheNiche
      @TheMicheNiche  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello and thank you for watching my video! Eggs are a great addition, I have started adding one to my recipe for a softer texture for my dog (since she tends to swallow her treats when she gets excited). Depending on the texture you are after, not including an egg will create a crispier biscuit. Adding one egg creates a softer center but the top and edges will still crisp up. If you add more than one egg, you can create a cake like texture which is perfect for your dog's birthday. Let me know if you have any more questions and I hope your dog enjoys the treats! :)

      Hello, and thank you for watching! I did a quick google search and it sounds like you can use coconut flour instead (I'm not sure if this will effect the texture, but it sounds like it will make a nice sweet treat for your dog). I believe chickpea flour can be used as a substitute as well. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any more questions! :)

      It doesn’t look as pretty, but a handful of peas or some pumpkin purée is good, too. You may need to adjust the amount of oatmeal.
