I see you don't have a lot of subs so I figured I'd mention that you're pretty good at this TH-cam thing. Pleasant video, great lil jams, informative. Stick with it, I subbed.
What a great video, Jason. I already liked the intro part where you told us about your looper journey, it was concise and still very informative. At that point I was still a little afraid you would start shredding away some heavily overdriven and distorted stuff but no, what you are playing here is something I would really like to learn myself coming from fingerstyle playing. I can see you have long reached 1000 subscribers but I subbed nonetheless. Thanks brother. Zs
Great video! You are easy to listen to. was very surprised seeing how many subscribers you had. Definitely gonna get at least one youtube plaque this year 😅 Good luck
Ah man that’s so kind of you, I’ve only really been properly at it for about a year now but I’ll keep plugging away! Had a fair few negative comments recently so that proper made my day, cheers!
Just purchased a Lekato auto looper pedal for my synths. Yes the volume can be increased or decreased, as well as redo and overdub and power supply. The loops are saved automatically. You can even bring back a loop if you so desire. Picked this up for $36.00 dollars with a coupon on Amazon, couldn't be happier with it. Lekato also makes the loopstage, but with more slots for recording, 9, I believe. I probably will purchase the loopstage also! I think the loopstage is a little more money, but not much. Great sonic pedals for my synths, and anything else you want to loop! Also comes with a USB Cable, so you can store your loops on your computer!
Thank you! Oof that’s testing my memory, I think for the most distorted part it was a boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion, that’s the most likely but I switch my board around quite a lot. It definitely sounds like a DS-2 anyway.
It’s a double tap stop so it can be tricky, I don’t use it for liver performance though, it’s more of a practice tool for me, if I use it in a video I tend to take clips from a longer segment or leave enough recording to fade it out in the edit.
Great thanks! Can you record over the file that you’ve brought in? And in the extended mode can you record for like 5 min over the one loop that’s looping?
Yes you can record over files you have bought in, I think the feature is mostly designed for importing drum loops and then using the extend mode to build the loop you want over the drum loop. In theory yes you can use the extend mode up to the five minutes although I’m not sure what the use case for that would be.
@Jeffcatbuckeye The previous versions have a stereo option, as well as competitor offerings. If you run anything in your setup as stereo, then you'll need this stereo since it's the last thing on the board. A looper is used for much more than just a mono guitar.
The ditto + is an updated version of the original ditto, yes they did later make a stereo version but the original ditto was never stereo. Hopefully TC will bring out a stereo version of the + at some point for those that want that.
@@BinuralOdyssey I mean it’s not a deal breaker if it’s in mono. No real benefits to running in stereo unless you are really dead set on it for some reason.
@@Jeffcatbuckeye Kinda silly playing a stereo synthesizer running through stereo delay and a stereo strymon nightsky to a mono looper and out to a pair of monitor speakers.
Not easily, you can just about switch with the little arrow buttons with no shoes on but would be next to impossible with shoes. If you want to do live looping I think there are better options on the market.
@@JasonWharton82 Thnx, but I mean WHAT happens when I switch loops live? Does it stop? I want it to play to the end of a loop and then start another loop. I don't use it with a guitar but for electronic music and with my fingers, not my feet.
It doesn’t work like that, if you switch to another memory bank it will stop the current loop and wait for an input to start the memory bank you are on.
Sounds like you need one of the multitrack loopers, RC 3 won’t do what you are looking for either. Look further up the boss range (skip the RC10r it’s got some weird limitations). The Ed Sheeran looper might be worth a look as well (the smaller one). I think you need one take has at least two tracks that you can record to and play back independently .
Do you know a looper with extended loop mode but with 2 buttons (stop and record)?🙂 I wanted to buy the ditto+ but the fact that there is only one button and that you have to press twice to stop the recording bothers me aha
Awesome thanks for the sub! I don’t think so, of course your initial loop can be whatever tempo you choose to play it at but if you were to load a drum loop on via usb then the drum loop is stuck at the tempo it was recorded at.
@tonchuazkarreta1262 yeah the boss ones can but they have a built in rhythm machine this does not. The RC-5 is probably the equivalent of this in the boss range if you need that functionality, I’ve had one, they are good loopers, just had a few quirks I didn’t get on with. You can expand the RC-5 with an external foot switch as well, good for assigning tap tempo and loop stop I found.
That’s a good question, you can clear individual memory slots by pressing and holding the foot switch while on the desired memory bank. You can also connect via USB and delete the files.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you but I think a double press from any state will both stop the recording and the loop at the same time although, I would have to check that.
@@JasonWharton82 When you are sinking to an external drum machine that becomes an impossible task you’ll always be a second to long with your loop. The rc1 you can put an external foot switch to make it a one click stop. The problem is boss ain’t boss anymore. Been through 3 of them in the last year.
I’ve always seen the ditto loopers, particularly the smaller one button ones as more of a practice tool, all the 1 button loopers are a little impractical for live performance, particularly if you are working with multiple sources. It does the job I want it to but I’m not gigging a looping set up so I can understand frustrations with it in that scenario.

Thank you for the kind words and the sub! I never quite got to shred level with my playing 😂.

I’ve tried quite a few loopers, it’s been a journey 😂
Great video dude.

Hope they update the double tap stop….
I doubt it, that’s pretty common in one button loopers, how else would you stop it?
Im with you. I love layering different length loops but this is impossible to use on the fly/live. I wish the usb could add a switch

TC do need to get usb C on their stuff. I do like this ditto +, the display is excellent 👍

The source audio pedals i have use mini usb too, so, I don't really like it, but on the bright side, all my pedals at least use the same dumb cord
