Could the Wampler CATACOMBS be the perfect TINY Delay and Reverb pedal for your FLY BOARD?
Released at the tail end of 2024, the Wampler Catacombs combines Brian Wampler’s favourite delay algorithms from the Metaverse pedal with 5 great reverb algorithms in one deceptively tiny pedal. Don't be fooled by the small size though, this pedal packs in loads of sounds and features and I think it's the perfect combi, time-based pedal for a fly rig or mini board. Check out the sounds and my three favourite features in the video!

A future CLASSIC Bass?... The Fender FLEA Signature Road Worn '61 Jazz bass.
We've had this bass in the collection since 2017 and it's been used on many of my TH-cam videos both in the early covers I did and as the bass track for some of my demo tracks featured on the channel . This particular Fender Flea signature jazz bass belongs to my wife, she fell in love with it and was able to pick one up back in 2017 and I've had the pleasure of being able to use it ever since....

    Great video and playing brotha! I was fortunate to commission a build from Modulus at the end of 2019. Musicman + P, blue flake with LEDs. Took 2 years and I had to get it plek’d once I got it. But just a stunning example of aerospace, LED & pickup technology, insanely good finish in the neck and body. It’s a chambered body with some kind of carbon fiber reinforced and only weighs 8 pounds with 3 9 volt batteries! I need to do some more recording with it.

    I see off specs that this has a slimmer neck compared to other Sterlings. Do you consider this being a thing? I got smaller hands and a guitar with a comfortable slim C gets my attention. I even see these used in the market for around $350. 😮

    • @JasonWharton82
      @JasonWharton82 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s a very comfortable neck, I have the music man version now and retuned the sterling not because it was bad, far from it, just because it made me want the full MM one. The necks are similar from what I remember and they both have a slightly narrower but width which is good for smaller hands. The full MM version feels a little better in the hand and is significantly lighter but both are excellent guitars.

    • @JasonWharton82
      @JasonWharton82 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I believe the pastfx model has two versions, one with the correct bbd and one with the same bbd that the warm audio uses, IIRC there’s a significant price difference between the two though. The triungulo also uses the correct bbd if I recall correctly and he’s quite an advocate for it stating over on Reddit that there are audible differences between the two. He does of course have skin in the game so I would always say, see if you can try both, trouble is that’s not always easy to do with boutique pedals.

I’m more of a single coil player myself and have a ‘98 Axis w/ MM90s that’s my main guitar so I bought the Fralins but now I’m chicken to swap them out - even with a tech doing it. I guess I just don’t want to be bummed if I don’t end up liking them. Any suggestions? (And they have small poles on bottom so no worries there)

      I’m pretty happy with the result for the neck pickup, if I could do it again though I’d probably clip the pickup wires at the circuit board end and add some sort of connector block so I could keep the original parts in place and swap out the pickups at will. My opinion is that if you think it will make you play it more then it’s worthwhile doing it.

    It’s more like 13 years now. Some guys site breaks it all down based on how slow the list is moving. Ridiculous

      Yeah it’s stupid at this point, the guy should be expanding to meet the demand but knows too well that the hype drives the sales and if that hype goes away so do potential sales. It’s a good pedal but it’s not worth the hype.

    I have a ca 2004 Custom Baritone Jag, CIJ, (just like this one, super clean), tuned B-B. I just listed it for sale on Reverb (Dec 2024)....from what I can tell, slightly less than any others currently on Reverb. Cool guitar; I just don't play much.

      Aye one of those guitars I think, nice to have but not something I would play often.

    The source audio pedals i have use mini usb too, so, I don't really like it, but on the bright side, all my pedals at least use the same dumb cord

    Funny timing. For 15 years I’ve dreamed of owning one of these Modulus basses and finally a week ago I got one! It’s an Orange Sparkle Finish with the SD pickup and Badass bridge/OBP-1. Plays like a dream!

      I’ve still got this one here, maybe my brother will eventually forget that I have it? Congrats on the new guitar day!

    I’ve been on the fence about this, in part because every other demo of this guitar is almost entirely Alice In Chains riffs. Thank you for posting an alternative, you’ve convinced me to go buy this guitar. Cheers

      Nice! Now how do I claim my commission from Epiphone? 😂 Enjoy the guitar!

    Very cool instrument. When doing my research to eventually purchase a Bass VI of some sort I came across some mention of the Jaguar Baritone but incorrectly thought it was intended for baritone gauge strings as it was 28" scale and I thought advertised as a baritone not a Bass VI. The only other 28" scale instrument that was meant to have Bass VI gauge strings I have come across is the Hofner 188 from the mid 1960s. Unfortunately those are as rare or even more so than the Jaguar Baritone. You said the Jaguar Baritone you play in the video probably has original strings on it so I guess you don't know the exact gauges?? This makes me wonder did this instrument come with a 24-84 set like the Squire and Fender VI or what exactly? I'm going to have to go dig a bit more about the Jaguar Baritone as it apparently has an even more interesting story to it than I originally thought. Warmoth offers 28 5/8" conversion necks for both a standard Tele or Strat bodies which would be a great way to get an instrument like the Jaguar Baritone or the Hofner 188. I did consider doing that at one point but ended up locating a Danelectro Danoblaster baritone for cheap and modding it to take the Ernie Ball Bass VI 20-90 string set which I really enjoy but after seeing videos of the Hofner 188 and this about the Jaguar Baritone I am still intrigued by a 28" scale Bass VI.

      It’s the original strings yes but unfortunately I don’t know the gauge. Good hunting for yours!

      @@JasonWharton82 I'm quite happy with my fairly recently aquired 30" Danelctro so I'm not currently looking for a Jaguar Baritone but I have to say a 28.5" Bass VI certainly does sound quite interesting. I did do a little googling and Wikipedia and some other sources claimed the Jaguar Baritone came with the same strings as the Fender/Squier VI so that would be the 24-84 set. I have played the Squier VI with the stock 24-84 strings and the E was pretty low tension which is something many people complain about. I have to imagine that same string on a 28.5" scale instrument must be damn floppy but you get some very cool sounds with it in your video! I have a 90 for the low E on my 30" Dano and even that is somewhat loose feeling but I suppose this is one of the "charms" of these instruments.

      Yeah the lower strings were a bit floppy for sure.
