Enjoyed the video, there's definitely something really satisfying about getting an old bike that's been standing to run again. You mentioned making a video about cleaning up rusty petrol tanks, I'd love to see that.

I used to have a side business cleaning and sometimes tank lineing. Have done everything from Japanese to Vintage Indians. I learned the hard way is to use cleaning vinegar to rid rust. Later I did electrolysis method. Both have their place. Fixed pin holes with soldering. Used a very large soldering iron instead of torch.

First time here subscribed and liked 👍. Definitely enjoyed it till my phone died 🤭🤫😡 now just charged up my phone b4 bed 🛌 😴 so I went back to history and finished it. It was awesome 👌 I was like a kid in sweet shop 😍 🥰🤪 brought me back some old happy memories. Used to have yamaha xt500 b4 i moved to 750 Africa twin and part exchange my yamaha RD250 for kawasaki 750 zxr H2. Now all just memories But if my health improves I definitely will get another Africa Twin from late 80s or early 90s even just for spending my spare time tinkering with it, which I have plenty of now.
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊 I also thought you would have taken that modern looking motocross, street legal one, the blue one. I think it was yamaha , I saw it back in that enormous depot at the end.
Very interesting stuff 👌 👍 and lovely to see all in one place 🤪😍🥰👍👍👏👏👌👌✌❤🍀

Since i moved back to the UK im amazed at how much these bikes command ..anyway nice vid mate

My first big bike, Triumph Trident T150V! It came to me as a straight swap for my 250 Superdream with full fairing and panniers, I had it to ride home when on leave from the Army. Trident came with Lucas Rita ignition, original exhaust and a Motad 3 into 1 exhaust. Non runner! The guy who swapped with me was in training as an electronic engineer, I was training as a mechanic. Within half an hour I had the bike running, much to the surprise of the guy I swapped with, lol! Two thing wrong the electronics guy did..... first electrically, the Trident was a positive earth, he had the battery wired wrong! Second and most laughably, the three ignition coils sat in a plate between the frame rails just below the riders seat. The electronics guy had the earth wire for the coils connected to the mounting plate. Only problem with that is the coil mounting plate is rubber bushed so no path to ground, remove cable from plate attach to mounting bolt of plate and Vrooom!
Now the pint of this story, lol! No electric start! Firstly, I must tell you this... This, seemingly was one of the last T150vs before the introduction of the T160..... T150V with a right hand change, 5 speed box when all before only got 4 speed box. Then found out it had Hepolite high compression pistons! 11.1 compression! It took me at least three months to learn how to kick start this thing on the sidestand, lol At first it was bike on centrestand and both feet on kickstart! After I mastered it, I walked around in circles for ages as my right leg was bigger than my left, lol!
