Excellent video. Between the variety of camera angles and matching music it was well paced and even without narration was informative and easy to follow. Frankly if CSX or the equipment manufacturer needed a 🎥 on this you could sell this to them with the good clarity close-ups and action.

If they have newer equipment that's in good running order and a crew that knows what theyre doing it can be like a symphony saw a SOO crew in MN that had it down to a science. WSOR has a large project this summer thru downtown Madison WI. Numerous tight clearances. Curves and grade Xings. The junk ties will probably be on TH-cam as Northern Michigan Rails shoots LSRC which hauls CSX scrap to a cogeneration plant on line. Sharp looking power with up to 25 cars of it.

This video goes into the execution of the individual work steps very well. 👍 But you would have to look at it, think about it a little and you could almost come to the conclusion that they don't want to use the large European machine for this.

They should replace wooden ties with concrete ties

This process is soon to take place here on part of the CSX New Castle Sub in Ohio. They got the new ties ready sitting along the tracks. Hopefully I can get some footage of it, but I am unsure when exactly they will be coming to do it. Any tips for that?

Not really. Just find a wide open space.

Thanks! The tie gang actually descended on the New Castle Subdivision just this afternoon, I happen to notice their equipment while driving through town. They were gathering the equipment there near town, but haven't started replacing the ties yet. I'm gonna go back out tomorrow and catch them in action. I would think they don't do that at night, correct?

@@epiccsx Usually not. Nothing good happens at night. Normally the gang works Monday-Thursday and go home for the weekend. They tried to have the track back in service by 19:00. I had the luxury of the farm property next to the tracks for 2 miles so I hope you can find a good spot away form a road crossing. Good Luck!
