    Thanks for the update, I just ordered one to replace my 4+year old original battery. I cant believe it was cheaper and has a larger capacity then OEM. Cant wait to try it out.

      Yes, I use mine exclusively now. Still love it.

      @talkingebikes Works just as expected. Got it in two weeks. Big difference in range from my old battery. I had to adjust the battery mount on my rad rover for it to fit. Other than that, it was a direct swap.

      I really like the Runner. This second battery has definitely changed how I ride. I can go further.

      @@talkingebikes I am the primary caregiver for my 80-year-old mother who is not in the best of health. The amount of time that I can spend away from her is restricted so I got the E bike so that I could still go on my longer rides and be back in a decent period of time, I don’t care about speed. I really just care about distance. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but I bought a trailer for my E bike and I would like to go and ride the Erie canal from Buffalo to Albany and back. Working out the battery solution for this trip now. I have a 12v 280Ah lithium battery and a 500watt pure sine inverter that I was going to put in the trailer that would allow me to charge the batteries as I’m riding.

      @@livingsimplytosimplylive6817 lemme know if you get it - i would pull the trigger on it if I was certain it would fit in the standard Radrunner battery location.

    My head hurts from trying to find one (U009) available for Canada right now (9 months after you posted this). Thought I lucked out with UPP directly but they later replied they don't have stock and no idea when. For some reason Alibaba isn't working for me right now either (caught in a password/user loop). This would've been perfect for my Radrover to allow me to cleanly swap with stock battery during the ride. Might have to find a more generic one to eat up my rack storage space and get wiring/connectors which I'm not very enthused about. Thanks for your great videos and info!

      Hi Mark. Try eBay. Many people are saying they found them there and it was easier than using Alibaba. However, not good to hear that they are out of stock. Hope they aren't discontinuing.

      I just bought one so they are back in stock. The 52v is no where to be found though. Love that it just slides into the stock mount.

    The method I have been experimenting with is to run the rad battery almost down to nothing then switch in another non Rad battery while the Rad battery is still on sending the “I’m the right battery “. Because of illness, I’ve been away from the bike and just got back to it this year. I had success with it for short distances but don’t know if it will work for a long duration. I am hooking up 2 volt meters to watch voltage drop which. Gets very pronounced as the battery gets tired. The batteries are hooked in parallel and the fully charged voltages are within 1 volt. The gentleman in this video makes no mention if the new battery has the build in security code that prevents foreign batteries from being used. I tried to use a foreign battery by itself and the system cut out in about 15 seconds. The battery i bought was about a third of what rad wanted. I still can’t figure out where the special code is located. I took the factory battery apart to see if I could find what the system looked like . Found nothing. I would have thought by now someone would have cracked that key so we could use cheap batteries. Guess not. This guy never mentioned it once which is strange.

      @talkingebikes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@yelyab1 I see you've commented twice and made the assumption there's some sort of conspiracy. The battery is a simple plug n play. There's no voodoo or special code to make it work. I don't know where you get this code theory from. Read the comments and follow the RAD page on FB, there are many people using aftermarket batteries.

I plugged my old RAD battery in and the display remains on as usual. Any thoughts as to the reason my new battery doesn't work properly? Thanks, Gene

      @@conradmontes2004 I haven't come across this problem however I did come across a cradle error. Swap out the cradle for the one you got with the battery. Perhaps that helps. There may be a bad connection between the old cradle and the battery.

      @conradmontes2004 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ok so This actually quite asinine of me but the battery wasn’t completely slid into the factory harness or the part where you slide it in so it wasn’t making a full connection it works hope if someone has the same issue it’s that simple slide it all the way down it’s a bit heavier than the factory battery but just slide it all the way down seems like common sense but when you get that new battery and assume it’s broken or something else is the issue it drives you crazy!

    How is the aftermath battery overcome the logic in the Rad system that rejects all non Rad batteries. Rad has lost a few customer satisfaction pts over this batt issue. Behavior unbecoming of a company supposedly helping the environment and available to working class people. $500 is nuts. Rad is slow to react to the market and their arrogance will soon be changed or we will have collector pieces.
