I bought my first console because of this game. After playing the demo, I didn't think it was a waste of money to buy PS5 and DualSense Edge just for this game.
@@TeletoppenLook What’s your farming route? I’ve been resting at the safe zone right outside the parking garage, kill all the enemies in the parking garage, then a few outside of it. Repeat. Do you have a route or just kill stuff there?
Day 1 purchase for me. I’ve been looking forward to this game since it was Project EVE. I had way more than 50 hours when the dev team sent out the message. Farming is lots of fun because you can execute combos so many different ways. You can also stealth if you don’t want to fight which is also fun for an action game. I love a challenge so once I figured out I could farm in the demo I immediately started farming to max out my skill tree. Surprisingly (there’s that word again) the grind didn’t feel like a chore, not to me anyway. Stellar Blade is a welcome change in this bland era we’ve been getting recently. Not to say that there haven’t been some great games, they just didn’t pique my interest. Death Stranding was the last game I purchased with my own money, to give you an idea of how long I’ve waited, and Stellar Blade has broken my “no pre-ordering” rule. Thats how good the demo is. Thats how good the game IS.
@@KuhaniGaming Shock Wave is my favourite. It’s incredible for range but is also great when you do a stealth kill into Rush for a nearby enemy. If the enemy is caught off guard you get an extra triangle finisher but it doesn’t finish them, instead it knocks them down and that when I use shock wave again. The best place to do this is off the bridge on Silent Street. It’s so much fun to use!
This game is gonna be one hell of a strong contender for goty and rightfully so. Shift Up really nailed this game. I am super excited to see what they come up with next. I am so ready for Friday to get here so I can get my hands on this game.
PC Gamer here. I bought a PS 5 just to play this. It's preloaded already. I'm sure the story will be generic. But I see it as a shot in the culture war, with the crapification of video games in general and a political ideology driving character design towards androgeny and uglification, which I completely reject.
@@robbie_I’m a PC guy too but I came from PS so I’ll always have the consoles to supplement for the exclusives. But I get it. After Rebirth im TOTALLY in couch, big tv, and surround sound mode. I sit in my chair and all I wanna do is chill out on the couch play some great games.
I’m down for Stellar blade day 1 (love anything with parry mechanics) but I do have my concerns w/ boss & enemy variety. You see a lot of the same enemies through the trailer and even the enemy info in the menu doesn’t have that many considering the predicted play time. The graphics are good but definitely nothing groundbreaking considering the focus is on 1 character in set zones and there seems to be quite a few reused assets. The input delay on quality mode will likely push purists (that want to parry everything) to performance which imo doesn’t look much different so that’s a plus. This could be GOTY contender if they get it right outside of boss fights because the few we have from the demo are fantastic!
Nice video man keep up the great work! I love Stellar Blade and I made a video covering all the information you need on it before it releases, check it out! :)
the game pretty much felt like a better version of nier automata combined with sekiro. the setting is not really my thing, but overall an enjoyable game. and thankfully it has german dub. that doesnt happen often in video games. i can understand english, but its still more fun in my native language. and the english dub sounded a little bit annoying tbh. L1, square and triangle had a very small delay though. that was kinda distracting. and in general the combat felt a little clunky. especially because the dodge is too short. i had a few other complaints, but i cant remember. again...enjoyable game, but not good enough to buy it at launch. i wait till its under 40 euro.
Super fair, the short dodge really messed with me as well. How was the voice acting for the German dub? That’s cool to hear they took the time to do that
Ill start with. Dont get me wrong, I love the game so far. But the enemy design is not that different. The bosses are but the shield guy, the little spider things, seriously when I first played I hated to see that again, but the rest of the game won me.
Yeah when he said that i was like ehhhhh I think I’ve seen a million designs of everything at this point. So many games have been made that I’ve seen similar designs before. These don’t seem that special. I do like the bio they have and how much description they get. Showing how they’ve mutated with the environment
Combat system needs a lot of polish: Input response needs tightened up, dodging is kind of useless if not a perfect dodge (needs either I-frames or hugely boosted range), attack animations need to be interruptible or have reduced end lag, combo system is kinda pointless since everything deals about the same effect and enemies will just hyper armor through extended chains anyways unless staggered. So the ideal way to play becomes the combat loop of: Parry spam until stagger, attack, repeat. Without some adjustments, the rest of the combat system is kinda just pointless and too easily punished by enemies.
I’ve seen a lot of people mention delayed input, but it’s weird because I personally haven’t experienced that. It’s clearly a thing though, if so many people have observed it. Hopefully they can improve it! For dodges, I just saw that as a challenge to master. It was rough at first but adjusting to the lack of i-frames made the dodges feel more rewarding, and honestly more realistic. Clipping through attacks isn’t exactly immersive imo.
@@KuhaniGaming True, though the dodges are remarkably useless without a perfect dodge. It’d be nice if they had at least boosted range so you don’t eat a full damage hit on every failed perfect evade attempt.
That’s your prejudice speaking. People have already tested the input latency and it’s comparable to Fromsoft games. You also have not unlocked all the combat mechanics nor seen all the enemies.
I definitely can agree that the dodge is brutally short, but yeah there is an upgrade in the survival skill tree that gives a second dodge to make it longer at least. It’s kinda similar to the newer God of War games with that unlocked
@@araarashinigami How exactly is that a prejudice based analysis? Edit: Also, even the development team said that there was an input latency and that the HDCP option on the PS5 is to blame for it. The notable end lag on animations doesn't help any.

@@thapl4yb0yd8nakarlx6 Definitly not a Souls-like for me. If I have to compare the game with something, it was more like a Devil May Cry mixed with Sekiro but I didn't had the feeling of a Souls-like at all. The game is way too nervous to be considered like that.
I figured that might turn people off, but if you stick around I explain that perspective later in the video. It’s souls-like through the level design, camp system, lack of a map and mini map, etc. The combat is definitely more akin to other action games!
@@wutupup5852 Death system is just a common thing with checkpoint, do you know ? You don't specially respawn at the camp like a Souls-like but just before the fight.
