Just one opinion on the pad colors . The light color pads draws your eye to the air conditioner, the dark pads draw your eyes to the beautiful stone floor.
I agree! It also looks consistent with the pillow covers her mom purchased so a more finished look to me.

The darker cushion goes beautifully with the covers your Mom gave you and it will hide dust and dirt much better than the white. It’s more calming and tranquil than the white too.

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed palms in any of your garden. I know you likely have some but I’ve just never seen a palm in your garden space. They look fantastic in the pots and honestly, as an Aussie who has several in my own garden… I love palms. Instant relaxing vibes. ☀️🌴☀️

I think what you’re feeling about the “ porch” area is it looks very southern, like out of Southern Living Magazine. Of course living in the south, I love it! What can I say about the Hartley coming together that someone hasn’t already been said…yay…it’s exciting…I’m so very happy for y’all…truly I am!🥳🪴⭐️

My vote is for the darker cushions. 🪑They go better with the pillow covers your Mom got for you. Plus, you won't have to worry about them showing the dirt as much as the other ones.
Thats true but its so annoying they dont fit right! Maybe she can steam them a bit to stretch them out enough
I agree about keeping the darker seat cushions. Those covers are similar to a throw pillow’s cover because they’re supposed to be smaller than the cushion/insert itself to add more fluff but I do think since they’re seat cushions that they’ll flatten down over time.
I love your plantings and especially your fig!!!! Holy cow, I have never seen one anywhere in St George, Utah! I did buy a Meyer Lemon and a key Limelight. My daughter was here from GA and and we had fun going all over the place looking for things I could carry into the house, durning the winter. I will be 75 this Wednesday and I hope I can continue to haul these plants in and out. For the last 2 years, we have had horrible wind, bad enough to strip leaves of my large Shade trees, praying it calms down and does not destroy my little new trees.

The window boxes turned out really pretty but let’s talk about the Hartley! Those chairs are perfect and the cushion covers your mom gave you are beautiful. They make a regal statement which is perfect for the Hartley ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Gorgeous!

The chairs look great in the Hartley. You have a knack when it comes to flower arranging, decorating, planting pots etc..you have so many talents. Aaron and you make a great team.
My vote is the darker pads, they look better with your mom's pillow covers, which are amazingly perfect for the Hartley!! Someone else said it, and I agree, just magical!!

Between the palm trees, coral impatiens, ferns, Hartley wicker chairs and crested pillows, you are starting to get a Bahamas, colonial style vibe going on. Quite a departure for the PNW, and I love it!

I love the chairs with the darker cushions. They are just covers so you could always switch them out if you wanted to. When my sister and I were little anytime we got a new refrigerator or freezer my dad would always save the boxes. He would cut them up and make them into a playhouse for us. We would have so much fun playing in those boxes. My mom used to joke instead of buying us toys for Christmas, all they had to do was buy us some big boxes and we'd be happy. 💗🌼
Exactly what I came here to say! And the little ones can color or paint on them and use their imaginations.. My kids always got lots of use out of big boxes. You can always use them in the garden afterwards. If your kids let you! Haha!

Prefer the darker cushions and I would consider spray painting the air conditioner too to make it less obvious. The Hartley is gorgeous!

I'm watching and doing odds jobs and sipping coffee and 👁👁 I eyeballed the boxes. I was going to mention saving them for ground cover and mulch and you beat me to it!👩🌾👍I'm 72, a 50+ year gardener and I love No-dig gardening and Permaculture. And I love watching you adopt some of those practices.

OK... I was combing through all the comments... AND NO BODY SAID IT! There were comments on the stunning chairs and covers (including the regal bee covers your mom gifted you); Comments on the palms and window boxes... The beauty of the Hartley and even the recycling of the cardboard boxes for the expansion of your planting area by the walkway... There were a number of comments regarding the flickering light on the left side of your porch (I think it was the new light that was recently installed); AND STILL, NO BODY SAID IT! ... So I'll say it: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, LAURA (even though it was on April 20th?!?) Hope it was a special day! ...And more importantly, I wish that everyday is a celebration filled with Love, Happiness, Good Health, Prosperity, and Joy for You and Your Entire Family!🥰💕🌺🥰
Beautiful! MO: The lighter cushions look unfinished. The darker ones blend much better with the throw pillows.
You should go with white wicker furniture for the Hartley. Keep the cushions lighter or with foliage prints, strips in a self design. Would look more put together with the brick walls. Since the space is small, keep the furniture more snug and not bulky.

I love window boxes with Impatiens, coleus and bagonias for shady spots.

As a toddler mom who also has an inclination towards lighter colors, I use outdoor scotch guard on my lighter fabrics to kid/animal/dirt proof things. I usually do two or so coats and everything just sprays off!
And also there are fabric paint 🎨 she could use

Pretty, pretty, pretty! Love the palms on the porch! They look so summer-breezy! Yes those cushion covers should relax with use and figs are super easy to propagate via cuttings. Just stick in water & they easily root. Do you know which variety it is? They can become monsters if they like where they are, and then you can start over with cuttings.
I love the look ofthe palms in the containers. So very pretty. I think you should keep both the colors. Scotchguard the hecknout of the white, use it in the Spring and Summer. Save the darker color for fall and winter. Your mom's covers look great with both. Have fun decorating your new space. Can't wait to see what comes next.

I think I would consider making a fabric "cover" to place around the base of the air conditioner to soften the eye draw. Nice chairs.
